Heaving reading. Like slogging through the library to write theme for history class. All the stuff is relevant. All important parts of our history. These original texts of centuries old documents is slow, slow going. I am on 1/4" into this pile after 3 months.

This was the first book and the only one to start reading to anyone's library and their own personal understanding of American history and the heritage of America.A perfect beginning to a U.S. history library.If you are a U.S. citizen or studying American history this book is a must read!Thank you to Hillsdale College Faculty for preserving American Heritage and History in the most direct and truest form.

This is not elementary history. The book is very well written and the credentials of the contributors are vast. It is absolutely necessary in conjunction with the Hillsdale College history course. I do recommend both the course and the book. I have not finished either as yet but as soon as life slows back down a bit I intend to.

An essential guide when taking course in US History like I did recently. Provides all of the important history as well as treaties, pacts and significant documents. Excellent compilation if you are taking college as I recently completed.

Great reference book. Great History. REcommend to everyone looking into studying the hist of America.

This book is AWESOME! It had more info in it than the History or Political Science books I've had while in High School.
