Great box for storing Ammo

As others have said the box is good but the latch doesn’t have a tight feel when shut. For what I needed it for it works for me. I may run a strip of weather proofing around the edge to give it a more secure feel.

I like being prepared, if I’m hiking or stuck on the side of the road it never hurts to have flares and this box is perfect for keeping my flares dry and safe. I put one of those orange gun locks that you can buy almost anywhere because I feel like it’s easier to get on and off than a traditional lock.

I bought this box as a toolkit for my 17 year old weekend/race car primarily because it is weather-tight, so my tools won't rust if I leave them in the box for emergencies. It has a great seal, and definitely doesn't leak at all, but it doesn't lock securely, unfortunately. The latch has a tab that looks like it should slot into the dog ear next to it, but it doesn't quite hold securely. The two together are big enough to get a lock through, and I suppose I could just put one on it so that it would stay closed in the trunk, but that seems like a solution to a problem the box shouldn't have. This is the primary reason I've deducted a star.The other reason is that it isn't obvious that this box doesn't have a top tray to use. There aren't pictures of it open, and their larger box has the aforementioned tray. This one does not, and I was really disappointed to find this out - I was hoping that I could keep things like a spark plug or allen keys up there and out of the larger, heavier items. Either note that it doesn't have a tray, or take a picture to show that it doesn't, please. Half a star just for my having to have ordered it to figure this out.

I've owned 4 boxes like this (2 short & 2 tall) for about 8 years. When I got them I knew right away that I didn't like the way the latch worked. I thought how can the box be weatherproof like this with a loose lid? After some thinking I came up with a cheap and effective fix. I took some 1/4" O.D. poly tubing that you can get at any hardware store, Lowes, etc. I cut a length 3" long piece and split it length ways and snapped it on the upper part of the metal latch piece. The molded "hooks" in the lid are just right to accept the larger O.D. and the latch snaps shut. That was years and miles ago and all 4 boxes still snap shut like they should. I don't know if I helped the lids seal as I didn't use them till I did this little modification. However, my boxes have all been outside in a hard driving rain and all the contents stayed dry. And no I'm not wild about the skinny foam rubber gasket but it apparently works.I gave this review 4 stars because the latch problem is a design flaw and it hasn't been addressed over the years. I made a "redneck" switch box out of it at my barn to protect some cord connections by drilling a big hole through one end and mounting the whole box vertical on a wall. After nearly a year of outdoor exposure, the latch mechanism and the rubber seal still perform as brand new and there is no sign of warping or cracking anywhere. That to me is an excellent start. I also have an orange one for my "boat box." But unfortunately lately it's been spending most of it's time with the boat in the garage. But in the few times it's been out it has never let any water in, and that includes in a lot of spray and rain.

It can’t possibly cost that much more for a sticker that comes off easily and in one piece.

I am using this for an electronics housing project. The plastic was easy to cut and the walls is very solid and thick. It came out really nice and I love the color. Really like that it is lockable.

C’est une belle boite orange, solide avec une barrure parfaite. Platement, le joint entre le couvert et la boite est trop mal conçu et laissera entrer l’eau et même l’humidité. Je sais pas qui a créé un tel joint..?? Reste que certains on remplacé le Gasket avec un plus épais et ca semble déjà mieux..

Used this for a battery box. Fits three 12 ah sealed batteries. With two it leaves enough room for my fish finder inside.Nice double latch. Good seal. Strong.Angled lid sides allows switch mounts.

Great box for my ice fishing flasher setup.
