Xantrex813-3000-UL Inverter, X-Power 3000W 12V Mod. Sine , Black

I’m completely off the grid. 400w solar/wind. I don’t run the ac yet but this 3000 definitely would. 2500w continuous and 3000 peak for 5 minutes. They suggested 4/0 cable to run it at 3000w, but I’ll never run it over 2000w, so I opted for 2/0 cable (which they said was ok if it didn’t go passed 2500w). Mind you a sufficient battery bank will be needed to run it this high for very long. They do instruct to wire a 250A switch and a fuse or breaker of the same protection. I got a switch for a dual battery bank for under 30 and the breaker for marine use was under 20. The 2/0 was about 6 per foot. This unit is running my whole mobile home, TV, dvd, dvr, small fridge, surround sys, lights, fans, etc. be warned that this runs about 55Hz, it’s not perfect but definitely does the job. The instructions say that some wall warts can’t handle the Hz, but so far I haven’t had major issues.

I was annoyed by the cooling fan of the ProWatt1750 coming on at 75*F, so decided to replace it in my garage/addition solar power. I picked the XPower3000 also by Xantrex because I was told it could be hard wired to the regular neutral/ground connected house wiring in my small panel. Also, it has a smaller idle power load, and will take the loads of my power tools better. I did have to disconnect my neutral/ground in my panel breaker box because it says it is accomplished internally and not to connect to a neutral/ground common buss bar panel. I was hoping the ProWatt1750 remote would work seeing it is the same phone jack type from the same company---but no, it does not work and I will have to empty out a lot of the attic and de-calk holes to get the remotes switched. That's the only installation hassles. I did add the recommended 300 amp fuse.In performance, it makes a slight buzz, but the fan does not come on at lower temperatures. I am in no hurry to install the remote, because of the low draw when kept on. I'm sure it will handle my power tools even better, along with multiple loads. The price was over $60 cheaper, too, than the same XPower3000 elsewhere. The ProWatt 1750 is now my spare.

Connected to 8 6v batteries and able to run my worm saw and a hair dryer without any problem. I am planning to get a solar panel and mppt controller to support off-the-grid power. Any recommendation on the solar panel and the mppt controller is appreciated.Update 1/26/16The unit was collecting dust for the past several years until yesterday tried to re-connect it back to the my 6V battery banks. Accidentally reversed the polarity, killed the unit. Beep fault light when powered on. Called Xentrex support and was told the unit is dead.

Man this thing works great. Have it installed in my work truck. Can run my big oil pump off it no problem. No real noise from it at all either. Think these will be going in all work trucks from here forward

Stop working after two days. Less is always more LLC would not take It back or replace. My money was not unfund, he did tell meTo call the manufacture.I went to manufacture XANTREX/SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC THEY SENT ME A NEW ONE AT No CHARGE. I have not had it install,but I hope I have better luck with this one. The inverter has a 6 months warranty on it. I call them Nov.12 and got my new onetoday on Nov 21,2013. THANK YOU

Installed on my offgrid 5th wheel. The only thing I can't run is my A/C. Which is no surprise, but this inverter works well and is worth the money. Been living full-time in my trailer with this being my main power source many times

Bought these before and they were ok. One died within a month. I saw that there was this deal and it said 4 pack so I thought why not. The package comes and there's only one in it. False advertising.

This inverter works great! I've had it for over a year and have used it to power a window ac, fan and pc equipment. Recently I began running it day and night using only solar and battery backup as the power source. This unit has run 3 laptops, phones, cameras, networking, and a fan at the highest setting all simultaneously with no problem.
