Handy tool for any electrical

Not bad for the price but note that the voltmeter reads about 5v low and the red indicator LEDs are so bright as to be blinding in a low light environment. It will do as a basic simple tester to check whether mains power is present and, hopefully, indicate correctly any wiring faults.

This is a neat and simple to use mains socket tester. It seems well made and the lights are easy to see from a distance. I gave the tester 4 stars for “ease of use” because the two light indication that the socket is working correctly is, me, counterintuitive as the tester is required to test the functionality of three wires in the socket. If all three wires in the socket are wired and working correctly I would expect the tester to show three lights, not two. I fully accept that this may well be a personal foible of mine but the first time I plugged it into a socket and it showed 2 lights I had to find my glasses, take the tester out of the socket to read the v small printed instructions of the face of the tester only to discover that the 2 light display indicated “all good”. Perhaps I should have read the instructions first.

The electrics in my house are not all working fine and I needed to trace the problems. This item is simple to use and gives very clear results.

Having already had an EICR done on our house wiring, and not being too keen on DIYing sockets on a ring main, I mostly bought this to test power strips / extension leads, which are not necessarily always produced to the expected standards and could be incorrectly wired (e.g. no Earth / CPC continuity or reversed live and neutral on switched sockets). I've tested a number of devices and have verified the results using a multimeter, so happy to use just this tester going forward for similar tests in future.

It goes into a 3-pin socket and gives a little light show, and tells you how many volts there are lurking in your wiring. So far I haven't electrocuted anyone, but it's early days.

Direi che per il mio bisogno e ottimo, e fatto bene, le caratteristiche corrispondono a quelle dichiarate dal costruttore, a me e servito per un piccolo impianto fotovoltaico, un problema e che ho sbagliato e dovuto all'acquisto, e che non ho verificato e la spina del Tester, è FRANCESE, o dovuto mettere un adattatore. Ma per il resto fa bene il suo lavore. Concludendo lo consiglio. Ciao e alle prossime.
