This is the BEST pet door ever! I am a senior and it took me only 10 minutes to install it. It is very sturdy, heavy duty, and the flap is thick and seals very well.I have purchased others, and returned them. Do not hesitate to purchase this item.

This type of door is very expensive. However, it is a very necessary and useful item that allows your dog or cat to enter or leave the house as they need to. This reduces the possibility of accidents and eliminates the need for a person to let them in/ out if need. The size of the door will fit well in almost any sliding door is relatively easy to install. This door will require that you buy more insulation. The reason is the insulating ability of the included insulation strip is totally inadequate to work well and is impossible to seal, at least it was in my case. You can easily get more insulation on amazon or at a local hardware store if necessary for about $5.00.I have had this door for a short period of time and it really works well it was a slight challenge to teach the dogs to enter and exit on their own. I just used lots of treats. I put their food and water outside after teaching them how to go in/out and that the swinging door wouldn't hurt them. Training will require SMALL BABY steps for them to learn this task. if they are having trouble break the behavior down into the smallest possible steps. For example, just sticking a head inside gets treats and lots of praise. Make a really big deal out of the smallest thing they do correctly. Then build on that success. Eventually, you will have them going in and out on their own. It just takes a little time and persistence. REMEMBER SSSSSSSLLOWW it down you are not in a race. Short training secessions are more effective than long ones. Don’t train longer than 1/2 hr at a time and always end on something they can do successfully, then quit.I didn’t bother with installing the locking feature. My German Shepherd and Pit Bull take backyard security pretty seriously and the lock wouldn’t have fit anyway.Unfortunately, I won’t be able to write many more reviews simply because I simply can’t afford to buy all the items I would like to review. Therefore, this will require me to limit my writing to just a few items as my finances permit. I will still do honest and forthright reviews, just not as many as I would like. I took off a star because of the fore mentionedinsulation issue the door block needs to be more robust so it would prevent breakage and the high price. All of these things are very easy to rectify and the cost for these improvements would negligible.

I purchased this door in effort to create more freedom with my furry fellas. I hate leaving the house for a long period of time without them having access to the outside. I had weighed out the options for doggie doors and saw this as a quick option. I honestly was skeptical as to weather or not this would do the job. I have 2 fellas a 90lb pit and a French bulldog/jack russel mix. These guys are both big and energetic. I honestly was getting tired of getting up and down a million times a day to let them run outside at every whim. I ordered this item and when I received it I was ready to take on the task of installation. I was surprised when it required merely strength to open the box. It’s a simple set up. It stands right on the track of your slider and butts up against the lock side of the frame with the door holding it into place. The top adjust with two set screws which allow the door the fit into that sliding scale of height. I do think that the seals that they send with are a little flimsy for my weather conditions here in Michigan as it is wi tee currently and there is a small bit of leakage due to my slider door being older. I used a Package of sled stick foam sealer from the hardware store That cost about7$. Simply put it closed off the small leaks that were between the door and the slider. Durability is great and this door can be popped in and out in 1 min flat! This is a win win. No cutting holes in the wall and no tools needed.

Product arrived in perfect condition, adjustable size for any door, ours is quite small and it fit easily, just had to lock down the spring loaded pistons and put the door in, then release them. It looks very classy with lots of natural light and seems fairly insulating, at least compared to our last dog door.

Installed however the weather seal was not worth even sending. Used window weather sealing tape 2 inches wide. Biggest problem with this is the flap. The slightest wind opens it. Second problem with is the material allowing the cold to pass inside. It appears to be good for warmer weather areas than cold weather.

We originally purchased a small size for our chihuahua and we love the utility it provides. We purchased a second large size for another large chihuahua to accommodate in a condo. Both work great, fit great. Eddy to install and remove. Very happy with the product
