About the Author Mark Carwardine is a zoologist, conservationist, award-winning writer, TV and radio presenter and wildlife photographer. He co-presented the BBC TV series Last Chance to See, with Stephen Fry, and a new series is planned for 2013. He has also co-presented several other series and one-off programmes. Mark has written more than 50 wildlife books, including several bestsellers, and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. He is a Contributing Editor to Wanderlust magazine, a regular columnist in BBC Wildlife, and is Chairman of the judging panel of the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition

A MUST BUY! An incredible book.
I have been lucky enough to have met this author when he was a guide on a trip that I did a couple of years ago.Meeting him and seeing his TV series with Stephen Fry inspired me to buy the book. But can I just say BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT! Its such a great read, even if you have never heard of Mark Carwardine. The photography and written word is so wonderful and it takes you on a journey through all these amazing experiences.If you are in any way interested in wildlife travel, or wildlife photography then you will love this. Its amazing and I would rate it as a ten out of ten.I intend buying a few spare copies to give to friends as gifts, its worth sharing.Now then... lets see what other books of Carwardines I can purchase!Marvellous! can I also suggest buying the Last Chance to See DVD set, thats amazing too.

Amazing book
I bought this recently as I've been a fan of Mark Carwardine's since the TV series he did with Stephen Fry a few years back.This is a fantastic book. I've been lucky enough to experience a couple of these - Spirit Bears in BC and a trip to the Galapagos - but there are so many ideas here. Almost too many!The photography is out of this world, and there's loads of useful information. Some friends who aren't normally into wildlife have even been inspired to make a detour to the Chatham Islands when they make a trip to see family in New Zealand later in the year.
