Flyleaf

Although all 6 tracks are on Flyleaf (UK Version - the 1st Album!), I was pleasantly surprised that all the songs are played and sung in slightly different and raw ways. It's their debut to get themselves out there and it was awesome to listen to the 'pre-album' Flyleaf.

Excellent, pleasure to deal with.

I came across this band when I was browsing the net and found out they were out on tour with Taproot, POD and Staind. Three bands that individually I have alot of respect for. Flyleaf could have been that worthless tag along band.... but oh no. Flyleaf don't have an exactly orginal sound, a blaytent mix of velvet revolver with early deftones percussion. But the rifts are hard paced with big open chorus, the verses play out gentle with effects heavy guitar. What makes Flyleaf is their gentle angelic lead singer. Her voice could be compared to a decent Avril or Otep in places, but she manages to complete hard rock with a female voice. Her gentle approach to the music that is very loud is a perfect mixture. If you have Lacuna Coil in your collection you must own this record. It's dirty rock but with beauty. Did i mention she can let out a pretty amazing scream as well? :) Have a listen to their songs "I'm So Sick" and "Fully Alive" on their website.

An excellent album. Lacey's voice is great, she sings her songs with so much feeling and the screaming is excellent for someone so petit. The majority of the songs are heavy, which i like but a couple extra, beatiful songs such as There for you and So I thought balance the album. Superb, I definetely recommend.

Tracks 1-8 I listen to over and over and over again. They never get dull or boring, no matter how much I listen to them. Lacey...that girl can WAIL...I have never heard a voice like hers, and I don't think I ever will. I have heard them compared to Evanescence, and though they bear some similarities, Flyleaf truly has their own sound, and it is amazing. Pair that with metaphorical, passionate songwriting that is almost without compare, and this CD is one that I will be listening to for a long, long time. Be sure to go to flyleafmusic.com to get the lyrics. They are a little hard to decipher at first, but after you know what she's saying, you're like, "oh, yeah, of course that's what she's saying." The lyrics are deep and while sometimes dark, there's a common thread of finding truth, love, and goodness, even in dark circumstances. You are the Truth Outscreaming these lies You are the Truth Saving my life It starts out kinda dark, but then she comes from a dark place. You can hear it in the lyrics. You can hear the deep and passionate love she has for God because of the deep pit that He brought her out of. A fantastic CD. If you like rock music at all, GET IT.

Entire album on repeat!!! This is their album that I listened to the most.

紅一点ヴォーカリスト，Lacey Mosleyをメインにした編成から， てっきりEVANESCENCE系のゴシック・へヴィロックかと思いきや， 歌い方はBJORKに似ていて，もっとエキセントリックな感じ。 楽曲も単なるへヴィロックの枠内に収まらず， 伸び伸びと自由に羽ばたいていて，一言で表すと「個性的」。 KORNの前座に起用されたというエピソードも納得がいく。 今秋，『LOUD PARK '06』で初来日を果たすが， 日本でどれくらい受け入れられるか見物（みもの）である。
