this is a terrific cookbook
I bought a copy of Vegan Planet years ago and use it all the time. This copy replaces my old worn out copy. I have other books by Robin Robertson's too. Her recipes are clearly written, easy to make and tasty. This book in particular has a large variety of recipes.

Excellent cookbook and timely delivery!!!
I am so excited that this cookbook came so quickly and it has exceeded my expectations already! So many amazing recipes and so much information! As a seasoned cook I already know from the ingredients and instructions that the ones I looked at are going to be good! I cannot wait to try all 425 of them...

Great weapon for inflicting "stealth veganism"
This is one of the best plant based cookbooks I've ever used. (For reference, I also love Isa Chandra Moskowitz's cookbooks.) At potlucks and dinner dates, I've secretly inflicted meals from Vegan Planet on hardcore meat eaters and dairy lovers; they loved what the food, without even noticing that what they ate was completely plant based. Their minds were blown when I told them that they just ate a vegan meal; they had no idea that plant based foods could be so satisfying. My fiancee, who has been a steak and bacon lover for most of her life, has been transformed into a tofu lover.I recently got this revised edition for my dad, who has been a meat eater his entire life. He has cardiovascular problems, and it was recommended to him by his cardiologist that he try a plant based diet. He fell in love with the meals in this book. Eating from here made him realize that he was not necessarily losing meat, but gaining a whole new world of flavor. Since getting this book, he was able to shave several inches off his waist and get off of his cholesterol medicines.Another friend of mine, a Midwestern girl who loves her dairy, got this book after I cooked for her. She is not vegan, nor does she intend to go vegan, but the recipes here are so universally good that she got it anyway. My criticism: for those who like spicy foods, some of the recipes are not that spicy. They require augmentation and experimentation. That being the case, the basic plans are solid enough that they can be easily be modified with a pinch of this or that here and there.

Great all-around cookbook for anyone wanting to prepare healthy meals!
I really like this book. It has a full range of recipe types, from appetizers through dessert. All recipes are healthy and nutritious, and you will find a lot of variety in the recipes with international flair. If you read the Introduction section, you will see what is offered. And the book really delivers everything she claims. The first chapter is extremely informative, providing great explanations about vegan foods and tips on how to make your own vegan versions of seitan, baked tofu, and other vegan foods that are often over-processed or too salty when purchased from the grocery store. Much of this information also helps you to save a lot of money, too!I purchased the Kindle version, and it is beautifully referenced and arranged. All recipes are listed at the beginning of the book, and have plenty of links provide as needed. All recipes start on a new "page" so that your bookmarks are very functional too!I highly recommend this book - for people curious about vegan eating, for those wanting a great beginners vegan cookbook, and also for long-time vegans looking for a great cookbook. Thanks for another great cookbook, Robin!

One of the most versatile cookbooks ever!
I never owned the original version cookbook, but I LOVE the fact that Robin has reduced the added oil in her recipes, and now gives the option of water sauteing vegetables in the revised edition, making them healthier overall. This makes most of the non dessert recipes McDougall friendly! I've made many of the recipes in this book, and just actually made her African Sweet Potato and Peanut stew 3 times in 5 days, because it really is that good. Every one of Robin's cookbooks is a winner, and just like her 1000 Vegan Recipes, the versatility is great, and she doesn't repeat recipes from one cookbook to the next, so they are all original recipes! You will love this book, and use it often! Go ahead and buy some of her other ones too....my favorites are the 1000 Vegan Recipes, Vegan on the Cheap, the Fresh from the Vegan Slow Cooker, Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker (also actually vegan), and Quick Fix Vegan. You won't be disappointed at all, but don't expect color pictures, there are none. You won't need them to follow the recipes either, her directions are spot on!

Gotta Have This Cookbook!
I love the way Robin Robertson cooks! Every time I see one of her cookbooks, I get it. I have cooked 25 recipes from just this one hefty cookbook alone, and every one was a success. Some favorites are: Chickpeas Vindaloo; Three-Bean Dal; Smoke and Spice Refried Beans; Tuscan-Style Pasta with Chickpeas, Zucchini, and Rosemary; Curried Lentils with Carrots and Peas; Zucchini-Tahini Bread; Chocolate Macadamia Clusters; and Creamy Cashew-Cardamom Shake. You don't have to be a vegan to love her recipes! The book's layout is also helpful. At the front is a section table of contents, with 20 sections! Each section is fronted by a brief table of contents, with the page being a contrasting color for easy finding when you're flipping through.Included are explanations of various flours, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, alternatives to egg and dairy, and even nine sea vegetables. At the end is a comprehensive index by ingredient, making it easy to find multiple recipes for whatever food item you want to use.And if you want just one more cookbook besides this one, I also recommend One-Dish Vegan, also by Robin Robertson.

Excellent cookbook!
I've found all of Robin Robertson's cookbooks to be excellent and this one is no exception. It has a huge variety of recipes. It also includes a section on basic tofu, seitan, vegan sausage and tempeh so you know where to go for this information without searching through an assortment of cookbooks. This is one of my most valuable cookbooks.

Stop eating dead animals ... its easy and delicious
Once you have finally realized that eating dead animals is unhealthy and unethical, this book will further enlighten you about all the great tasting foods that don’t involve any killing or torture of animals.Trying to make a dead animal taste edible was always a challenge for me, probably because it’s muscle tissue, tendons, blood vessels and flesh, not much different then my own.It seems obvious to me now why animal products require so much work to be barely palatable where as foods from plants are much easier to make taste delicious.Stop filtering your nutrients through dead animals. Buy this book so you can learn how to prepare healthy, hardy, delicious plant-based meals.
