Amazing picture, thin and light TV
I got this to replace a 46" Phillips 1080P LCD tv I bought in 2007. I got a really good deal on it from the treasure truck (48% off). As a result, I likely had a better chance of it not being damaged in shipping (which seems to be an issue in other reviews). I got the 49" one.Wow. The difference is night and day. here's what I've noticed:-Picture quality is much better. particularly moving things which became pixelated on the older TV. This is likely due to 4K, LED back lighting and improved image processing.-For some reason I'm able to pick up about twice as many channels using the same antenna I was using on the old tv. This tv also tells me what program is on and what each station is called.-built-in apps through android TV are really convenient. I was forced to use my PS4 previously which lacked certain video apps. The android TV app selection is on par with roku. and I can control my tv from my android phone-tv is LED lit which gets rid of the "black glow" effect of the old tv. blacks are really black.-tv is way lighter and thinner than the fluorescent lit display.-I can control the TV with my smart speaker.-The TV doesn't seem bigger as the old tv which had a 2-3" bevel around the outside. This tv has virtually no bevel. so the amount of space it takes up on the wall is about the same, but the screen is larger. The built-in speaker could be better. I'd recommend hooking it to a soundbar or receiver.EDIT:I didn't notice it at first, but the TV has a narrow black vertical line that shows up (almost like the pixels are dead). I called Amazon. They were able to connect me to Sony who is sending a free replacement (since I bought the TV a few days ago, and it doesn't appear to be a shipping issue). Not sure how common defects are on this TV.

Love the Sony KD55X750F 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV!! Recommend it for sure.
Sony KD55X750F 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV~~Absolutely awesome tv for us! ~ Great picture~EASY set-up~ Great price~ Light-weight enough to diy on wall mount.I didn’t set up all the google apps n stuff yet, because not really using it for internet/android/etc but it wasn’t from fear of what they might learn about me, as I figure they either already know, or can learn anything they wanna know. I just “go slow with apps n try to learn more before I go there ”.~We have Fire Tv Cube as our set up. Cut the cord from cable/satellite a couple months ago, and will never look back (unless things change) as the Cube has made us most happy with savings and options. This tv works beautifully with Cube, easy set up/conversion.~The picture is awesome, no issues with shadows, light, etc. Granted, not a pro, but it is awesome in mpov. This Sony tv is much lighter/thinner than the Sony it replaced. Sony has made us happy for years, so we stick with the brand.~~ Love the price. Love the picture. Love the brand. Love ease of set-up/use. Love all the possibilities I have yet to discover with this tv!~~~~Would recommend to anyone, based on experience thus far.

Internet Connection Impossible
To start, the ONLY reason we needed a new tv is because I tossed a DVD case and broke our BEAUTIFUL Samsung perfect TV and we bought this on 2019 amazon prime days on a lightening deal... boy that was a mistake. Trust me, Read this before you think about buying this tv. TRUST ME- don't buy it.The tv itself is ok, JUST OK. We are big Samsung lovers here, so a sony we knew would be slightly different. But this is extremely different and frustrating. Set up was super simple, login using phones, links to your google account, easy. Even "connect" to the internet through phone so no need to enter that annoying WIFI password again. Naturally, we check netflix. Slow, grainy. EW. So we plug in direct internet using ethernet, changed it to LAN connection. Same issue. Try using Hulu- "connection error, check network connection". Reboot internet, checked internet on phones, perfectly fine. tried hulu again, same issue. Tries vudu, S L O W E S T yet. Barely loads the movie. Shows 1 single bar of internet connect on top of screen. HOW? We have extremely fast internet for gaming, there is no reason for that. Googled for fixing this issue, someone mentioned reset the time and date on tv, ours was set using our phones, was not wrong. Whatever, changed it and changed to the correct date and time (why not try), no change at all- not sure what those idiots did, but this DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. Sony blames our internet, NO! OUr internet is fine, all our other devices, tvs, and blurays all work just fine. It is a HUGE problem with this sony TV. If you ask me, I say get a samsung TV, worth all your money. So in the end, this tv SUCKS do not get it. RETURNING and buying our beloved Samsung.

Great, albeit expensive, smart TV
I have had the TV for several days now and am loving it! I am thoroughly enjoying the quick and easy access to applications like Netflix, google play, hbo go, pandora, etc. I haven’t tested the speakers too much because I bought a sound bar at the same time as the tv, but the few minutes that I did listen to them, they sounded great and the voices seemed very clear. Picture is great, too.Oh one random note - the box has unique instructions for getting the TV out. I ripped through the box and got the tv out with the usual struggle of getting through cardboard and styrofoam, BUT if you open the box from the top and read the instructions (I use “read” loosely as it was mostly pictographs which were honestly kind of unclear and frustrating), there is a simpler way to remove the tv from the box.

Awesome!
Got it off the treasure truck for 399.99 and it's a great value for that price. It's got a good picture quality, easy to set the stand up for it and its not too bulky or heavy. My only complaint is that there's a bit of lag on the smart features at times and there's no support for new apps. It has pre-loaded apps like Hulu and Netflix and quite a few others, but if there was some other app you wanted that it didn't already come with your out of luck. For the price this is a fantastic TV, I'd give it 3.5 stars if I was paying $800 for it.
