Nasa Battery BM1 Monitor -12VDC - Dark Grey

I don’t have a boat, for which this device is primarily designed, but that doesn’t matter.Having installed directly upon a leisure battery for a remote IOT sensor, after several weeks, I can confirm that this device does everything promised and, does it extremely well.It is accurate, well-made and comes with pretty much everything you need, to have an accurate and true battery-health/capacity display. The instructions are clear and concise, and the auxiliary components supplied are first-rate.Unlike other devices, this monitors both discharge and charge, can give you live voltage and current readings, time to go before recharge required, the true state of the battery and, a whole host of other features.If you are in the market for a reliable, well built, weather resistant and accurate, battery health monitor, which monitors both charge and discharge, you will find it hard to beat this device.It is British designed and manufactured and, it shows – simply a brilliant device and highly recommended!Superb British Engineering - Accurate, extremely well-built and reliable!

These a great battery monitors, have had one before, so I thought I'd get one for my new lithium battery in my Motorhomes, followed the instructions and messed about with it for ages, couldn't get it to work properly. When I contacted the manufacturer they informed me that it doesn't work on lithium batteries. Didn't say in the manual, or instructions, so will return it.

A lot to read but hopefully informative: I installed a BM1 in my Motorhome which is my week-day home and I cannot praise it highly enough.Without doubt the BM1 is the most useful purchase I have ever made. I found out about the BM1 from researching my Narrowboat project but anyone who has a Leisure Battery be it in a Caravan, Campervan or Boat should fit one of these. It is an absolute must and god send.My van has a traffic light series of LED charge indicators on a Zig Panel which I thought was adequate but I know was not. I had gone through three leisure batteries in 6 years which I now appreciate was due to cycling them far too low; running them right down until flat and than expecting them to recharge fully. This severely damaged their life expectancy and what I now know and pass this knowledge on to others is that a leisure battery should never be discharged to less than 30% of it's capacity.At the same time I installed the BM1 I also replaced the Leisure Battery with a latest generation AGM Model from Advanced Batteries that came with a 4 year warranty and which the maker claims if kept above 30% charge should have I live expectancy in excess of 10 years and I have confidence that the BM1 will allow that to happen. By contrast my old battery had a 2 guarantee but was most probably effectively dead long before that.The NASA BM1 allows you to exactly monitor the battery charge state and therefore enable you to effectively manage your power source. In doing this it has educated and informed me that one battery was not quite enough so I installed a second and now enjoy an abundance of power, very handy to have in the winter time.Installation wise, fitting the BM1 was straight forward and whilst I myself possess specialist skills I believe any half competent person could follow the installation instructions and carry out a successful DIY installation.One point worth a mention is that fitting the full-size version requires access to the back of the panel in that there is a bracket on the back of the unit that pulls it towards the panel and so seals the installation whole. There are no fixings on the outside so it is NOT a case of connecting all the wires up and poking them back through the hole and fixing the unit in place. On my install I was lucky in that I had an adjacent front mounted Zig Unit that I could take out and thereby get my hand in to the back of the BM1 and tighten up the mounting bracket.If on your proposed install you can't get suitable access to the rear of the panel you might consider going to the Compact Version of the BM1 which works exactly the same but is surface mounted.Either way, Get One! I promise you will not regret it.

This is a very high quality item.The illumination is nice and bright.The voltage and amp readings are spot on.The battery level indicator and percentage reading is extremely helpful.The best part is the 'Time to charge' and Time'to discharge' readings. These automatically switch between themselves when your relay kicks in to charge the battery or when your using equipment. These readings are displayed in hours and minutes.I cannot rate this highly enough.

The best battery monitor I have ever seen. Easy to install and set up, gives excellent information as to what is going on with your batteries and what charge is going in or out of them. Very very useful!!!

using it to monitor camper van batteries.works well and has large clear display

Installation kit is quite good for reasonable easy installation. The starting battery wiring needs additional connector. Improves knowledge of the charger's functionality as well the consumption.Though the current calculation integration is just couple of seconds, it should be 1/2h or so. As the monitor shows remaining estimation in hours (e.g. fridge turning on/off) the value jumps up and down, depending the consumption at the moment.

Had read lots of reviews of this which influenced my decision to buy and all justified. Excellent product, very easy to read display. Great response from technical support to help me wire solar panels in correctly so that they register their charge properly.

Produit conforme au descriptif, contrôle 2éme batterie possible (un fil et 1 fusible à prévoir).MAIS Quelques doutes sur la justesse de la mesure en Ah, dépasse les 100%, après une décharge à fort courant (30A pour une batterie 100Ah durant 20mn) la capacité restante remonte pour au final revenir presque à 100%.Le compteur d'Ah serait il un vulgaire voltmètre?Pour 20€ de plus le Victron semble plus pro

tres bon produit avec une mise en oeuvre tres simple, pour bien gérer son autonomie cet appareil est quasiment indispensable et permet un apprentissage de l'energie
