Works perfectly!
Humminbird owner’s manual (Helix 7) says nothing about high speed bottom loss or how to fix it. I learned online and youtube this Y cable allows the unit to utilize TWO transducers and splits the signals to the head unit. Seems a 2D transducer is much better for holding the bottom at speed. I already had a 2D still mounted to my boat so i gave it a try. Problem solved. It seems the SI and DI is even better and 2D is unchanged. Best $38 I spent this month. Humminbird should list all their compatible accessories and what they do in their owners manuals. They did years ago.

Required Addition for Humminbird with Mega Side Imaging
If you purchase a Humminbird with Mega Side Imaging and mount it on your console you will lose depth reading if you travel over about 7 mph. MSI was developed to review bottom structure at virtual idle speeds. This makes it impossible to acquire depth readings while running. In such a case you need to add a second, high speed, transducer which requires this Splitter Cable. Once installed you will be able to acquire depth readings when traveling faster than 7 mph. Humminbird recommended this Y-Cable and the high speed transducer for my application - Helix 7. I have no complaints. It works as advertised.

Great Tool!
A great tool offered by humminbird, a little pricey for what it does but overall effective in its purpose of allowing you to use 2 transducers with one unit.

Easy install. Tight fit on connections.
Haven't tried it on the water but install was easy. I was able to connect with Helix Mega 9 si and my older Humminbird 788ci speed transducer. Must put the muscle on getting the connections together, but by design a nice tight assembly.

Do not buy if only to use as an extension for a single transducer
This y connection cable needs 1 transducer for deep image and side image, and a second transducer for depth.You will NOT be able to get side or depth imaging, at the same time as depth readings, if only using 1 transducer connected into one of the two y-cable connections.If you need an extension cable for your transducer, get that, not this y-splitter.
