Dixie is a 13-year-old girl, unhappy with her life: her parents separated five years ago and her peers at school think she's weird. One night during a storm, Dixie suffers an accident and wakes up in the middle of a cemetery - as a zombie! With the help of Isis, an Egyptian mummy, and Gonner, a pirate zombie, Dixie seeks out a strange man in the forest who holds the key to returning her back to life.

Good show!
Strangely, this wasn't as good as the sequel, "Mummy I'm a Zombie". Usually it's the other way around! Still, it was fun to watch. I wouldn't say that it's for children under 10 or so. Not that it's "dirty" or uses bad language; it's more that it's aimed at the younger-to-mid teenage crowd. I don't think kids under 10 would be interested, or be able to relate in any way. While I'm much older than that group, (ok, much MUCH older) I still enjoy animated movies. I'm also an ex Goth who still loves the darker side of "weird"... And main character Dixie is most definitely a Goth!If you enjoy movies by Tim Burton, have a slightly "off" personality, & a sense of humor that runs a bit on the darker side, you have to rent this for the basics, even tho it's not that hard to follow along in the sequel. (But it's still nice to have the background of the characters.) And then - you absolutely have to watch the sequel!

Awesome you need ti buy it
My 10 year daughter is writing this review. The two movies are so awesome my favorite character was Gonner a boy pirate zombie and Isis a girl Egyptian mummy. The whole story begins with Dixie a 13 year old girl unhappy with her life her parents divorced five years ago and her peers think she's wierd. Then one day she wakes up in a cemetery as a Zombie and meets Isis an Egyptian mummy and a roguish pirate named Gonner they have to go up against the evil Neboulosa and her assistance Peroshka who is a little spy for Neboulosa. Dixie will learn about betrail and friendship in this challenge to save her friends family and herself. In the second one Dixie sees Gonner and Isis in the mortal world to defeat Neboulosa again from regaining world domination with help of zombie slaves. can Dixie save the world again you will have to wait and see.

Very cute story. I like the animation.
There are two movies: Daddy, I'm a zombie and Mummy, I'm a Zombie. The Mummy one is available to rent on several different services. However, Daddy, is not. I rented this movie so I could see how the story started before watching the second one. I love the animation. The story was also well done. I don't understand why you cannot get this one, it seems, anywhere. I like the story. It is cute.

Fun Movies
I enjoyed these movies for the most part, but they had some weird editing. Also the endings were pretty bad.

Me (a 36yr old man) and my 4yr old daughter really enjoyed this
While there was a few moments of 'older than her but still not too old' subject matter (a couple cadavers and a couple brief zombie kissings), it was a really good movie, anything that holds her attention is...I was goign to leave her to watch it alone, but kinda got sucked in, Im a sucker for animation styles, and this one was unique and the story was fun.

Cute movie
I have the two pack DVD but they are not closed captioned. I had to order the Amazon Video download for me to have the close captioning. This is a really cute movie and my grand daughter loves to watch it all year long. Lots of info ...good info to impart and take away from this movie.

Good moral to this story.
My eight year old grandson loves zombies. But I don't always like those choices for children. This is a sweet story with a good moral to it. We liked the animation and it held his attention all the way through despite the main characters being female.

Depressing
My two young boys aged 4 and 2 started looking for something else to do after about a third of this movie had elapsed, which is saying something because they love TV and especially animated movies. Most animated movies can keep the grown-ups amused too (which is just as well because we end up watching them dozens of times), However I found this movie just depressing! After watching it once I have decided to recycled it, because I can't bear the thought of inflicting it on the kids (or me) again. The sound track is dreadful, and the Director needs to seek other types of employment, because clearly animation is not his field. The characters expressions, dialogue and reactions are woeful. In life you generally get what you pay for - I should have known better really. £3 is a fair price for this movie, if you consider £2.95p is for materials and packaging.

A Classic Zombie Movie
My two boys Loved this film and it is a great Family Movie to watch, snuggled up on the sofa on a boring sunday afternoon.I must warn you though, that there is `Daddy im a zombie 2` out aswel...So they go hand in hand as does any movie that has a sequel. However if you love the first movie, then you will definately Love the second instalment even more.Hope you enjoy them as much as my family did.

Worth the money
Bought this for £3 on amazon, cheapest seen in shops at £4.99. Perfect film for little boys, ( especially ones mad on sharks) has a good story line that has ecological theme, ie shark fin soup etc waste pollution in sea.Great DVD for price, this is now kept at grandmas when on babysitting duties.

Great film for kids
My son and I watched this after seeing a trailer for it and we both loved it. It's everything you would expect and the characters are very loveable. It is not in the same line as Monsters Inc or Toy Story but it did the trick on a rainy afternoon, with mugs of hot chocolate and popcorn!
