FRYE Deborah Glazed Vintage Satchel Handbag

I have been ogling this bag for months. The last thing I needed was a bigger bag since I already have the Cameron satchel (amazing) but something kept bringing me back. Must have been the whispers "Buy me! Buy me!" Caroline's review compelled me to take the plunge.The bag is absolutely gorgeous. I selected the chocolate and it is a deep, rich brown but not so deep that it's opaque. There is a good amount of shimmer to it from the studs and the glazing. The whip-stitch handles are something quite special. All in all a very unique and timeless piece that will, hopefully, last me a very long time. The cross-body strap is a bit on the stiff side but I'm confident that will relax in due course.As for the size - it is large. Accommodating all that one drags around with them on a daily basis will not be an issue. Depending on what you travel with, it may even make a suitable carry on. Given the size, the weight is reasonable.If you're on the fence about making the purchase, heed Caroline's advice and snap it up. There's no telling how much longer the satchels will be in stock and who wants to pay list if they don't have to? That said, even at list price it is totally worth it.

This bag is a little bit of heaven. Seriously! I was in the market for a nice quality bag, and for me, half the fun is the window shopping. I spent weeks combing through various stores, bookmarking the ones I like, and then BOOM! I came across this one and all the other bags I was considering paled in comparison. I had to have it. I needed to have it. I needed this bag in. my. hands.The price was amazing - I did my homework and Amazon had the best price on this item by quite a bit. The item arrived quickly (I have prime) and it was in excellent shape, exactly as described.So far, I have no complaints at all. The quality is great - holds up nicely, all of the studding detail is beautiful. I haven't noticed any transfer of dye onto my clothes, even when carrying the bag while wearing light colored clothes.As other reviewers mentioned, this bag does not come with little "feet" on the bottom, so you'll want to either have them added or else be really careful with where you set the bag.I've yet to carry this bag a single time without receiving at least several compliments. I love it!

I’m writing to add a few comments to another reviewer’s remarks. First off, i would say you have to be very careful wherever you buy THE FRYE COMPANY products. Knock-offs are a constant problem for them, so much so that credit card fraud investigators can’t keep up with it. i went to Frye’s website and bought three bags for their one time a year sale and was ripped off for over $600. The web site was so identical to Frye’s no one could tell the difference. My credit card did stand behind me after a few months' investigation and it didn’t cost me anything. One thing, though, is that there is a factory in Mexico and, believe it or not, China. That blew me away, too, but it is so. I have received so called off bags, also, from Amazon, but they were completely helpful in getting me a new bag, however many times, until I was satisfied. In the beginning of all this, I don’t think they knew they had faulty bags. They are just everywhere. From what I learned, the only way you can be sure it’s not fake is to buy on THE FRYE COMPANY website. Also. Frye does not discount, ever; not in 150 years, they are proud to tell you. So, if you don’t want to take any chance at all, buy it from THE FRYE COMPANY website and call the phone number before you place your order to make sure you haven’t got one of the hundreds of very real fake sites out there. Otherwise, you can’t beat Amazon’s prices; but if you do get a bad one, call them and they will do their very best to make it right. At least that has been my experience and I have over ten bags. There are other certain ways to make sure you have a REAL honest to god Frye (boots also) and if you visit a Frye store or call them, they will tell you what to look for. I’m not going to put it down here because it only helps the bad guys. Even with all the hassles, they’re still some of the best bags and boots at very reasonable prices; certainly not cheap, but worth what you’re getting when it’s real. With Amazon, the become far more affordable and they will absolutely make sure you get a bag you’re happy is a real Frye. For me. it’s worth a little hassle. You can take the bag to any Frye store and have it authenticated when you get it. I hope this may add a little light on a very real problem not just with Amazon, but with Frye fakes in general.

This bag is the perfect size. I can fit a file folder or two for work, a book, my iPad, wallet, and extras. It is very distressed and cracked which is what I love about it but know this if that is not the type of bag you are looking for. The bag appears to have been almost sanded down and then glazed. Very cool and unique.It feels sturdy with the long strap and some frye bags do not, another plus.Overal beautiful bag and amazon had the best price when used with the 20% off email promo.

This bag far exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail and beautiful leather are second to none. Its beautiful inside and out and big enough to hold all my crap, and I love that it has the long cross-body strap. I have been wanting a big leather purse for awhile now and this one is great. I get compliments on it all the time.

I have wanted a purse like this for years and finally got it at an amazing price! I could not be happier! Some have complained about the size but I feel it is perfect for everyday. I love how the handles go to a down position when you are wearing the purse as a crossbody. The only thing I would complain about is that the glazed leather kind of flakes off a little bit. Reminds me of glitter. But I am completely happy with this purchase.
