I'm glad someone decided to provide an uncensored version of Anne Frank's diary in English. This book contains English translations of three versions of Anne Frank's diaries, printed in such a way as to make it easier to compare them than if they had been printed back to back or in separate volumes. One version is Anne's fictionalized version. One is the, censored version as it was introduced to the Puritanical United States. The unabridged version is excellent, but not for prudes. Anne Frank was apparently bisexual, as well as a young woman of great intellect, insight and literary talent! I was amazed at how well I was able to relate to her, even though she was of another gender, born into a different race, raised on a different continent (Europe), about a quarter of a century before me! Thanks to this book, I fell in love with her!

The granddaughter I bought it for was very pleased with it.

This book is a very detailed description of the evens the led up to and proceeded the capture and arrest of Anne Frank. Would highly recommend to anyone who didn't "get enough" from the diary.

Book in perfect condition and its content forever inspiring! If you want to encourage your children to read more, this book is a great JUMP START.

The book condition itself was posted as very good I believe. It was not. It had scrubbed mold/mildew marks and was missing the jacket. Pages were not in the best shape either. This was a great disappointment.As for reading the book, there are 3 different version of the diary and they are very hard to read. All three are on the same page. I had great hopes for this and they got dashed.

The book and the service was more than I could have hoped for. I am very pleased.

If you are interested in a more in-depth read on Anne's diary, I recommend this book. This is NOT her basic diary. If you want her diary for a child, buy Book A, the "mass market paperback" edited by Otto Frank. If you want to read just the diary for yourself, get Book C, the "Definitive Edition". This "Critical Edition" is more a scholarly study into Anne's handwriting and how her diary was verified as real for doubters of the holocaust.For those complaining this isn't the "real diary" - DUH! This is the collection of the different versions of the diary put together by the Dutch War Documents Collective (or whatever it is called) and shows how the actual diary was analyzed to confirm its veracity against those trying to cast doubts upon its truth!I saw when "Anne Frank Remembered" won the Academy Award in 1996 for Best Documentary. I was with a neighbor girl who said, "Who's Anne Frank?" I fixed that the very next day when I purchased her diary for her and her friend. I proceeded to read the diary again for the first time since 5th grade. I also studied everything I could lay my hands on from the library about Anne and her family and the helpers. That included this book! I also saw the movie "Anne Frank Remembered" in the theater. W.O.W.I was impressed to learn, for instance, that Miep and her husband Jan also hid someone in their home! The book companion to the film goes into Miep's struggles before and after the war, as well as the difficulties of caring for a group in hiding.I specifically remember studying this book at my security job in the weeks that followed the Academy Awards.You see... A few short weeks after I began researching Anne I suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) when a van ran a red light and impacted my driver's door, putting me in the hospital with seizures and my injured brain, so immersed in my study, left me convinced I was Anne. I was convinced the doctors and nurses were Nazis and had taken me prisoner!Next year is the 20th Anniversary of my injury. As Anne is so wound into my history now, I'm traveling back to her house when I take a trip there to celebrate my survival that day. Every year I do something special to celebrate. This year is extra special. I'm staying in an AirBnb rental across the street from the Westerkerk, 200m from the Anne Frank Huis. I first saw her house when I toured Europe by train/backpacking at age 20. In many ways I'm turning 20 again. I still have occasional seizures, but I've had 7 brain surgeries to correct epilepsy and they have greatly diminished. The actual 20th anniversary of my injury (4/16/2016) I intend to spend visiting Bergen Belsen, where Anne and Margot died. Interestingly, it falls approximately on the 71st anniversary of the camp's liberation (4/15/1945).In 2005, I was a docent at a touring display about Anne Frank. I only gave tours on one day: 9/11/2005, but I worked the front table several times. Next month I will be in NYC. I was pleased to discover an Anne Frank museum not far from Ground Zero. As I will be in NYC on 9/11, I intend to visit her museum that day after I visit the Memorial Fountains. I'm rereading her diary again. She never ceases to amaze me! My brain finds it difficult to follow one sentence to the next quite often - it's possible this review has jumped around. I found this edition on their website and thought I'd check Amazon before I spend $75 in NYC. I'd rather get the edition I studied in 1996 than purchase the one released in 2003, anyhow. This is good.

Worth its weight in gold to any serious scholar of the Holocaust.

There are some excellent articles and explanations within the book. I am a bit confused as to how the actual diary part works with A, B, C and the brackets, etc. I find the Definitive Edition is a more easily read form of the Diary.
