2 years with the ibobber
Two years ago I did research on all the portable castable fish finders on the market before settling on this one. Price point and features were big for me in deciding on the ibobber. It does what it claims and marks fish, depth, and water temperature accurately. Some of the other nice features are the underwater mapping and fish alarm. I have used it both casting from shore and dragging it behind my kayak. I will turn on the fish alarm as I am paddling and it will alert me of fish I've gone over so I don't have to stare at it constantly. I use a waterproof smart phone pouch around my neck, which in my opinion is a must, to aid in using the device. The ibobber is able to determine two different fish sizes, those under 15 inches and those over 15. The led light is a welcomed feature for night fishing. My friend has the Deeper and while the sonar app looks more like an advanced sonar map I'm not convinced it's actually much better for the price. He continually had problems with the app freezing on his Samsung device. I use an iPhone and have had very minimal crashing on the ibobber platform. His deeper is also considerably heavier than the ibobber. So much so that I would not recommend casting it without heavy braided line. I use a dedicated dock demon pole with heavy braid to cast mine out and leave it there while I fish with my other rods from shore. The Deeper also makes you purchase a separate cover if you want to access it's led light for night fishing which is ridiculous because of how much it already costs. Battery life is the issue with all these devices. Once they're fully charged they do last around 8 hours. But you must charge it the night or hours before you go out. Charge either of these a couple of days in advance of a trip and they go dead before you get there. Overall I'm satisfied with the ibobber. It isn't perfect yet, none of them are. It's a new generation in castable fishing gadgetry and I'm sure improvements will come along. But for me the price point/ features of such a new gadget was what hooked me. Good luck out there.

Very handy
I just got mine and I’ll start using it this weekend. So far I really like it, it’s compact and easy to use anywhere. I’ll provide an update after I get some time on it.Update:I used it most of the day today and it works great. Although the fish weren’t biting it was picking up a lot of them of all different sizes. The only thing I don’t understand is in the app and book it states it picks up above and below 15” size fish with orange tags for below 15” and green tags for above 15” . Today I experienced 20” to 37” fish on the sonar but the tags were orange. I’m not quite sure what to think of that yet. In accordance the tags should’ve been green for those sizes. I love how it tells me how deep the water is and the raw sonar is handy too.

Very inaccurate
I really like the idea of these mobile fish finders. They are a fantastic idea for shore and kayak/canoe fishing. I decided to try the ibobber brand based upon simplicity and price. I tried this thing out right away when I got it and decided to return it for a few reasons. One reason of concern was the way this thing attached to your fishing line. There's a tiny metal bushing with a hole in it about the size of the eye of a good sized fishing hook and that was surrounded by a very minimal amount of plastic which was attached to the device. I was very concerned that the cheap and under designed mounting method would break possible resulting in a loss of the device. It has a cradle that you must use if you want to charge the device. If that gets lost or stops working, you are going to be without your product. Not sure why they don't utilize a more popular changing Port. Another concern of mine was the battery. When I received it, I charged it for a while before I used it. When the battery was at %93, I decided to go try it. It took me about 7 minutes to drive to our local pond and by the time I got there, the battery level was at a reported %34. After reading others reviews, I see other people have had the same issue with rapid battery discharge. Perhaps the device just isn't reporting battery level properly. Probably the final reason I decided to rate this so poorly and return it was the lack of accuracy. When I first put this in the water, it said there were fish everywhere. So much that I immediately thought this was a defective unit. I tried a few other spots and got the same thing. Smaller fish symbol for fish under 15" and larger fish symbol for fish over 15". I'm certain that is also inaccurate. I would say that at minimum, %50 of the fish on my screen over multiple casts were larger than 15". I know for a fact that there are very few fish in this particular pond that are over 15" so that was a concern too. I ended up taking it to another small body of water that branches of from the river to test it out there. There are larger fish in this area but usually not many fish in general. This thing was still picking up fish like crazy just feet from the shore. I don't think the accuracy of the depth is the greatest either which is also reported in other reviews. When I got it 3' from the shore, it claimed the water was 6' deep when it's really only 1'-2' deep. After about 30 minutes of usage, my battery on the ibobber must have been getting pretty low as it started having a few connectivity issues. It does have a few good features though. The simplicity and ease of use was great. It also has a strike warning which I'm not entirely sure how or if it works but it would be awesome if it did. Lastly, it does have an led light that you can turn on and off at night if you wanted to see it. I really wanted to like this and use it but I think this needs some major improvement. Based on the cheap feeling structural design and lack of accuracy, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Ibobber is good for me!
So after having the ibobber for about a y at now and using it dozens of times here are my thoughts. It does the job of depth and markingnsome fish. If the water is really choppy it won’t stay connected but that is to be expected when fishing wirelessly. It’s nice to have the lighted ability of it and the range works well for bank fishing. I have used it on my pontoon and it’s a big help there as long as I am not too shallow. The dislikes is being on Apple it took me a while to get the firmware to update but it will just had to try it a few times. When mapping the water bottom it’s should have an indicator to let you know if you reel too fast or too slow. That’s about it though to anyone who purchases it enjoy your fishing.

Customer support is appalling
Utter rubbish! Bought in early as a birthday gift, will not communicate with phone despite updating the firmware and buying a new galaxy S8. Apparently outside the return window now but sadly no body responds from the manufacturer, probably worth throwing close to 100 quid straight down the loo instead and keeping a photo of the thing as it's about as much use!!

Not the most clever bit of kit I have ever purchased...easy to lose Bluetooth contact with it even over relatively short distances. Blocky readouts on depth finding chart & many object that are not fish appear as fish.
