If you look at the ingredients you will see its all natural using 22 organic grains, nuts and seeds.  List to follow at end...
I think if you do some investigating those $1-$2 breads may not have ingredients that are good for you, such as high fructose corn syrup.  White bread is cheap but is it good for you?
As far as price goes it is expensive and as a single mom I mostly only buy it on sale, for now.
There are other whole grain breads that aren't quite as expensive.  
It is also a matter of taste, everyone has their own preference.

how do you justify pricing at about 3 times what it sells for in a brick and mortar store??

Easy actually. A brick and mortar store does not pay Amazon fees, membership fees, shipping fees etc. my suggestion would be then to shopping or local grocer. Your paying for the convenience of shopping at home and having it delivered.
