Hinge Outlet Spring Self-Closing Hinges, 4 Inch Square with 5/8 Inch Satin Nickel, 2 Pack, Adjustable Door Closing

Bought this for 2 reasons, spring loaded closing and hole locations. Replaced hinges for door leading to garage when builder didn't include these. So glad this was available as a direct replacement (square on one side and rounded on the other as well as hole locations)! Unscrewed the old ones and installed these. Setting the spring tension was simple. The whole process took me about 15 minutes and now my door doesn't fly open out of reach and closes itself to a point where I can fully close with a simple pull. Note, I didn't cut the pins after setting the spring tension in case I want to change it later. They don't protrude too far and should be safe for most people. One is less than a foot above the floor and the second is well above eye level for most people.

Fits like a glove! Just need to know how to put tension on the spring mechanism. Not sure the instructions are clear enough on that. They are not self-closing until to mount and put tension on mechanism.

I have a door leading to our screened porch that always ends up open wide. The pets like to come in and out, and so does my wife. These hinges solved the problem. They are well made, install perfectly, and have lots of adjustment. Will soon be ordering another set for the basement door!

Install was easy enough and the hinge works well. Its closing a fairly heavy door leading out to our deck area. The packaging was disappointing and parts missing. Parts were just moving around free in the amazon shipping bag, with a hole in it. Received the two hinges, one bag of screws, no tension pins and no allen wrench (not sure it it was to be included, not a problem). If I had not recently installed some Amazon spring loaded hinges on some interior doors around the house, I would have been up a creak with no tension pins. Luckily Amazon sent an extra pin with each of their hinges.

I purchased these spring hinges to make sure the door from my kitchen to my pool patio would close automatically (kids dont learn to shut the door behind them until they are about 40 years of age). Plus the old hinges did not match the bronze door hardware. These were easy to install but the spring setting took some time. I had to install them upside down with the spring tension hole on the bottom (instructions say to place that hole on top). It worked fine once I figured out the correct direction to tighten them (it was reverse of the instructions due to being upside down). I installed two spring hinges on my heavier insulated door and tightened them each the same and they work beautifully. One hinge squeaked a wee bit but a touch of wd40 took care of that.

I wanted to lime this product. The holes appeared to line up, but when I went to close the door, the top portion of the door hot the frame. I assumed I did not align the door properly so I attempted to line up the door... I don't maybe 20 times. I removed the hinges and slapped the original one's in and boom door shut with no issues. I said to myself.. Sweet, I am not an idiot. So I placed the new hinges in and the same issue appeared. I observed the holes and they are off compared to the original ever so slight. This misalignment causes to door to hit the jam. This may or may not happen to you. I am simply telling you my experience.

I added these to the middle and bottom hinge spots of our kitchen door and they work great. Our kids were sometimes forgetting to our kitchen door completely and then the dogs would sneak out. Not anymore! Heavy duty, good quality. The screw pattern wasn’t an exact match on one of the sides, however there was no issue using the provided screws to screw into new holes. I also had to hit the striker/lock assembly with some WD-40 so the door could close itself.

Great product to keep my front door from hanging wide open especially for those friends who want to stand in the doorway and chat for 20 more minutes after you have already said your goodbyes. It's expensive to cool or heat the entire neighborhood.
