Cool tool ! Really awesome

this is a great enclosure and unlike other offerings in this price segment, this one offers a jmicron controller instead of the realtek one. I've heard a lot of people having issues with the realtek controller under Linux. the unit is made entirely out of metal, build quality is great and it feels bulky compared to cablet's offering but at the same time it's slim and doesn't have sharp edges making it easy to hold. there's a gentle green activity led right on the top of the unit which turn to a soft blue when the drive is inactive. i find this really good as other offerings in this price segment offers either a cheap blue LED which is absurdly bright or the position of the activity led will be in such a place that you'll have a hard time looking for it. the rear screw to open the unit is also long and strong and won't get stripped or stuck, this is important because if that screw gets stripped, your nvme will be stuck inside. that's exactly why i had to return my cablet one which i purchased previously. one complaint however is that the provided thermal pad is too thin to actually make contact with the rear plate, a possible workaround is to cut the pad and apply it one on top of the other directly above the controller region and the NAND. coming to speed, i have paired this enclosure with a 512GB teamgroup MP33 PRO and i was able to get the promised 10Gbps sequential read and write using exfat partitioning. overall i am really happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone who needs a good and reliable nvme enclosure.

I really like this 256 gb flash drive for the cellphone as I've run out of memory on my phone and I can't clear the phone for a certain amount of time as I still need what's on it and this external memory stick is the perfect solution.

Device is not working within 1 year. It is not recognised on my i phone. waste of money. There is no warranty.

Bought this after seeing another review that this enclosure with the JMicron JMS583 controller worked better than the Realtek RTL9210B-CG controller based devices on Linux. But it did not work out for me with a recent Linux 6.1 kernel. The JMicron controller does not support SMART unlike Realtek and even though its specification says it supports UASP, the device threw a fit when connected to my laptop's USB C port. Lots of UAS errors in the kernel log points to the UASP standard not being implemented fully/correctly. The device also ran very hot (to the touch) but I couldn't measure it since the controller lacks SMART capability. I also have to add that recent Linux kernels have no issues with the Realtek controller based devices which I'm using now. Due to the seller's 7 day return policy I was able to return the item and get a refund. So thank you to the seller "BiggerBig M". Overall this is a good product that's let down by a bad controller. In conclusion, buy only if you're planning to use it in legacy mass storage BOT mode. UAS (USB-SCSI) may not work well.
