Looks nice and works well. It comes with anti slip pads that keep it from pulling toward you which are definitely a necessity. I really did not like the scratchy sound of the two wooden pieces rubbing together when it spins, so I added a washer (not included in the packaging) to give the top piece some lift. It works great now. Nice and quiet.

I really really wanted to like this. I wanted to test it out with the plan of gifting one for my sister. Unfortunately, I will not be doing that. The thing comes in two parts: the base and the spindle. The spindle is designed to spin when you pull the yarn.First the base: It came with four non-stick dots that you put on the bottom. These are not sufficient to keep the base from sliding when you pull. I tried it on numerous surfaces: glass, vinyl, granite, wood. Same result. And if it doesn't slip, it tips over.The spindle: Not tall enough. Not smooth enough to spin. The yarn will spin if you pull it very carefully, but its rotating around the spindle, not with the spindle. And if you don't pull slowly and gently the whole thing tips over. And this was with 5 ounce skeins, which are fairly small. So a larger skein wouldn't work at all.Overall, for a skein that I haven't wound into a ball (which I hate doing), it works better than a yarn bowl. But barely.

I was looking for something that I could use to hold my cones of thread, This is perfect. I can use it to hold my cones and also all of my other threads. I like to put my threads on TP rolls and this works great at dispensing my thread as I work. Others say their thread gets tangled, but I have not had that problem. It is also made of a nice wood and it is sturdy.

So glad I bought it. It’s as lovely to look at as it is functional. Really has improved my crochet experience. It does squeak a bit, but I haven’t had issues with it tipping over.

I read through the other reviews of this product and chose to purchase some rubber dots to put underneath to hold it in place when I used it. The holder comes with some small dots, but I liked the added security of the bigger feet I used. I have used this with a cone of cotton yarn for crocheting, a smaller ball of cotton yarn and a smaller skein of regular baby yarn for knitting and crocheting. I am very pleased with this. It doesn't tip over unless the yarn on the ball gets tucked in too far, and that has only happened to me once. It made working through and finishing a couple of projects really quick. I would buy this again in a minute.

Initially, I really liked this product. It's a great size and spins easily, and as a bonus it's quite nice looking too. Unfortunately after owning it only about 2 months, the coating on the spindle has begun to chip and my yarn balls frequently get caught on the rough texture. This is obviously a huge drawback considering you're supposed to put yarn on this, and the fibers getting caught and pulling can really mess up a nice skein of yarn.I have been very gentle with this product and it's stayed in the same spot since I purchased it, so it seems that over time the product just doesn't hold up to normal use. Pretty disappointing and I would recommend shopping elsewhere for something more long-lasting.

This works really well when you get down to the middle of your scan of yarn when it starts falling apart a working into knots. I love that you can wind it up on this and it spins so as your using it, the spindle spins with you. There is no interuption to your project.

Using these(I have 2) I no longer have to rewind the balls or long skeins of yarn. I slide the middle of the yarnover the spool and start chrocheting. I use a spool for each yarn color, and use the same base so switching colors is a breeze.

I do a lot of crochet and sometimes the yarn comes in cones. This makes working with cones very easy. Also works for skeins too.
