The listing of New is a lie
I ordered this USMC Hydration Carrier because it said New. I received the item, and it was literally covered in snot, and smelled like rot and mildew. I returned it, and ordered another one thinking there was a mistake. I just received the replacement, which was ordered as NEW, and the bag into which it has been repackaged says USED. This item is much better, and so I am going to wash and scrub it clean, as well as trim and melt the loose strands hanging in places. Do not order this thinking you will get a NEW USMC Hydration Carrier, and for sure do not attempt to get a used bladder as well - buy a new one so you don't get sick. Surplus is a risk sometimes, but the seller needs to be straight with the customer about the condition. I have a ton of surplus stuff, and have no problem with reconditioning items for my use, but I do not like deception at all.

Nice but..
First of all I want to say that the quality of this product is excellent. From the stitching to the material the pouch is even insulated to help keep water cool or prevent it from freezing. That said, the pouch is a little small and will not fit most 3 l reservoirs that I have. I imagine it would fit a 2 l well. Also, it is true that it smells. That is to be expected from surplus items I suppose but the item was well worn. I soaked it in water with baking soda overnight to try to get the smell off. I was a bit shocked by how much dirt came off of it.Still, the stitching, and the webbing are great quality items and you can't go wrong with the price but be prepared to wash it before you use it.

The listing says "Previously Issued" but this thing is just like new!
The listing says "Previously Issued" but this thing is just like new! I was hoping to adapt it to use with my Camlebak bladder, but it won't work like I planned... It's unfortunate, however it doesn't detract from the quality of the carrier. It comes with back-pack straps so you can wear it as is, or you can slip it in your pack. I have an ILBE Gen II rucksack and I plan to use it with that eventually. Seems like it will work perfectly fine with my rucksack, I'll just probably end up investing in the Source 3L bladder. Bottom line, this is a quality hydro carrier and it's mil-spec. Can't go wrong!!P.S. Mine came with an old toothbrush that must have been there from the previous owner :-P I wonder how far around the country (or the globe) this old toothbrush has made it...?

Small water port opening.
Used, but in completely usable, perfectly 'broke-in' condition. No need to worry about getting it dirty or looking like a newb! The water port opening is the smaller size not to be used with Camelbak's large port style. Straps and buckles were in excellent shape. Great buy!

Worth it
Needed a hydration pack for some hiking around and figured why not.Keep in mind these are previously issued as mentioned, so don't get your hopes up it'll be new.Mine came in well used and stained with a little debris falling out. Though it's still serviceable as nothing is frayed or torn, quick wash and good as new.Should note that the stains came out after washing/drying and now ordered a second pack just because haha.

Good sewing and lots of buckles and straps
Take note that the opening is substantially small than the standard CamelPak bladder. Also, there is no hanging hardware at the top of the cover so there is no way to hook the top of the bag to the top of the cover.I made it work using a 1-wrap around the top exterior clip .....Good sewing and lots of buckles and straps .. too bad they could not have put a single loop on the inside top so the bag could be supported. I guess they intended to opening to be the top support .. but since they didn't publish the dimensions of that hole ....

I have been wearing this while running and it rides comfortably and securely
Solid piece of gear, fits well and carries well. I have been wearing this while running and it rides comfortably and securely. When mine came in, I had to really check it over to determine if it had been issued, it was so clean. I did find an MRE wrapper inside the back pocket, so turns out it had been issued! Overall, this is a much better and more affordable solution for me that commercial-brand options. Highly recommend.

Satisfied!
Even though it has been issued, i received my item with no damages except for some scuff marks in one buckle and tape marks on the carry handle. For $15.99, having a mil spec bladder carrier is a bargain, comparable to expensive bladder carriers in quality, or might be better! After i washed it, looks brand new!
