This product is excellent.Just make sure to quickly drink it with water as it can cause a little burning if you keep it in mouth.

Fortunately, I found this product when my previous HCl product was no longer available. The Nutricost Betaine HCl Powder provides much more thorough and complete digestion than I have experienced for years and alleviates the nasty symptoms of incomplete digestion! Yes, the flavor is quite "tangy" when mixed with water, but becomes totally tolerable in time. I always take after having eaten small serving of yogurt mixed with digestive enzymes--definitely works very well for me and I'm totally convinced that my nutritional status has greatly improved!!

Betaine HCL literally SAVED my life! I was on a feeding tube where food was being bypassed through my stomach, straight into my small intestine. Everything I ate made me severely sick. The doctors couldn’t figure it out and just kept telling me to take acid reducer medication. They finally did a gastric emptying test, where you have to eat radioactive eggs, to test how long they take to empty from your stomach. It look HOURS. My food was not digesting. I started taking this HCL and I was soon off my feeding tube. My food was finally digesting and I was no longer getting sick. Do you have burping? Acid reflux? Constipation? Nausea? Undigested food in stool? All of these are caused by LOW stomach acid not too HIGH. Like you are told by your doctors.

. . . I wish I knew where it was produced. A lot of supplements are made in China these days which gives me the willies! Btw, you must encapsulate this before taking. If you take it straight you'll burn your esophagus and be in a world of hurt!

I could not use this product. Thought it was a powder it's taste was to hard to get down

This product from Nutricost is 25% Betaine [TMG] and 75% Calcium silicate. It tastes horrible and causes gastric upset every time I used it. I ordered pure 100% TMG from another dealer [Pure]. This has no taste and does not upset my GI tract. Caveat emptor. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.
