OUR EMOTIONS AND BEHAVIOUR: BUT WHAT IF? A BOOK ABOUT FEELING WORRIED

Good book
This is a useful book to introduce the topic of worries or anxiety and give children a chance to talk about anything that might be worrying them. The story in the book is about a little girl called Daisy moving house, and worried about her new house, new neighbours, school, friends and teachers. She even worries that her cat will run away. In the story, her grandad helps her by listening to her worries and then reassuring her. If you're dealing with worries about a move, this book will handle it very well but it can also be used for other types of worries, by showing that it's normal to worry, and using the similar reassurances. There's also a picture board at the back to discuss another small worry story, about a boy called Henry who's worried going to a birthday party. I really liked this aspect as it's more interactive and gives children the opportunity to tell the story themselves and say what they think Henry is worried about. It also mentions on the back that the book is book band 6, orange band level, which is really good to know as it's not always easy to place books for reading level when the differences between each one can be quite subtle. There are other similar books in the series too to deal with other difficult feelings like anger, sadness, being afraid etc - it would be a really good series to have to hand in a school, or if you have a child who sometimes struggles to deal with emotions (as one of mine does)

Add this gem to your feelings and emotions book collection.
Wording, and approach are great. Simple, and relatable too. Will enjoy the relief this brings our minds.
