African black soap guru
So let me start my review by saying I'm 55 and all I use on my skin is African black soap and Shea Butter and no one ever guesses my age . I also use almond oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, argan oil, marula oil, rose seed oil but only natural oils go on my skin. I like to have a couple top three products that are my go-to's so I'm very happy to add this to my top three. I'm very picky about not only my shea butter but my African black soap. There are a slew of African black soaps out there that don't contain all the authentic ingredients, I was so pleased that this one does.I used to cut my African black soap into a bar but I found it it seems to be less messier, and easier to use if I do a DIY body wash-- that way I can also add some ingredients to give it extra moisture. I just broke down my African black soap and mixed in boiling water, vegetable glycerin, neem and grapeseed oil, sometimes I switch up and use vegetable glycerin, coconut oil, argan oil. I just squirt on my Japanese washcloth or facial cleaning puff and wash. African black soap has gotten rid of shave bumps, discolorations and most importantly that occasional patch of eczema that I got on my rear end from time to time is no longer an issue. I've never had acne at any point in my life so I can't speak on what it does for acne but I've read tons of testimonials from others that say they've had good success with African black soap on their acne. Please do yourself a favor and your skin, and go natural, you'll be glad you did. I'm super pleased with my product! And kudos for fast shipping!

Does not contain essential ingredients, or ingredients specific to West Africa
This soap is missing some key ingredients! Black soap consist's of Plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves and shea tree bark ! This product does not!!! This is not true black soap! This product does not contain any products that are specific to the African region ! Palm tree oil can be sourced locally or from other places outside of Africa. Where are the African ingredients?

NOT 100% RAW AFRICAN BLACK SOAP.
This is not real black soap. It smells like regular bar soap, like Irish spring. I overlooked it and tried it anyway because I though maybe it was just the packaging that smelled. It does not dissolve quickly like the real raw African black soap, it has streaks of light brown almost white in it, which is a dead giveaway that it has probably been mixed with regular soap. My skin dried out, and after years of using only black soap my skin doesn’t feel the same. I went through half the first “bar” (I bought three) and now my skin is suffering. I wasted my money, they are selling a fake product.

High quality and pure.
I love my black African soap so far. It lathers nicely and makes my face feel squeaky clean. I would advise not to rub soap directly on skin, as you could cut your skin. There are sharp pieces of plantain leaves in the soap. I hope to see results in the near future in regards to my acne.

I believe this has been diluted.
It seems that this soap has been diluted. I've been buying raw African black soap for years. This is my first time buying from this vendor. I usually buy a 5lb pound block, cut portions into bars and liquify the rest. The liquid soap is usually the color of dark coffee. This time it's the color of coffee with a ton of cream. Luckily it still works wonderfully but I believe this has been diluted.

False Advertising/Scam. 10lbs is only 9lbs ON BOTH ORDERS
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I did not receive a full 10lbs on either of the block of soaps I ordered!!!! Both orders were only 9lbs!!!

no soap film left behind
I tried and I cannot go back. No, I am not fond of the look of the soap, but I have been using raw African black soap for about a year now and it cleans like no other. I am not partial to any particular brand but this soap has a nicer price than others on the market and it works just the same. For those with sensitive skin be careful to not "scrub" the skin aggressively. This soap does not require that and it may irritate your skin, gently wash the skin with a towel as the soap may have sharp pieces from the ash. Of course, everyone is different and for some RABS may not be for you. Yet, it is worth a try and when used correctly will yield results like no other.

Drastic change in product. I am very disappointed.
I had fallen in love with this soap. Me and my husband us it for everything (shampoo, face, bathe). I have acne prone skin with huge pores and I've seen a huge improvement after using this soap.I ordered several pounds to keep in stock and recently decided to order more to share with family and friends. I received the package today and was shocked to see how different the product was.1. The label had changed (the pic with the blue is the most recent). This is not a huge deal but it immediately caught my attention since I was used to seeing the orange label. Not a huge deal except that....2. The soap was super soft and flat. This is somewhat illustrated in the first picture. I received 3 and they were all flat and soft. Since each comes in 1lb packages, I typically cut them into smaller bars and use as needed. Cutting these bars (1st pic) would be impossible.3. The color has changed as well. The soap I previously ordered (2nd pic right), were dark brown. The soap I received in this batch was more of a khaki brown, very weird and unappealing.I am returning this batch but I am super disappointed, I thought I had found my forever soap, now I have to ration my previous batch until I find a suitable replacement as I will not order from that seller again.
