Mr. Wayne's Masterpiece

Ms. Pollaco is one of my favorite children’s book authors for good reason. She can write of the most sensitive things in an unoffensive way children can understand and be intrigued with and helped by the story.

I LOVE PATRICIA POLANCCO and she has outdone herself with this one! This book is about the transformation of a shy student into a self-confident, actor ready to take on a play. I love the way the teacher coaches the student, along with her peers and helps bring the best out in the actor. It was a great story to share with my students, especially the two really shy girls I have in my class this year.

Incredible illustrations and energy in this wonderful book by Polacco. This author writes with a sensitivity and spirit that we hope all our children develope. Although this story centers around a child with stage fright, anyone who has ever feared taking a chance and having confidence in themself to venture into something new will identify with the story. Most highly recommend.

Love way it is written

Her several books thanking the teachers who brought out the best in her--or believed in her when she thought she couldn't---continue to be excellent. Polacco always touches you with her characters.

Beautiful book: topics include, overcoming shyness, willingness to try new/scary things, personal growth/change.

This is a great book.
