The whole kit is of high quality. The mat is sturdy and the foldability make it easier to transport. The cutting tool is sharp and easy to use, replacing the blade simply involves unscrewing one bolt. The ruler is sturdy, easy to read, and accurate.

I got this set to cut up t-shirts to make a t-shirt quilt, and I've used it many times since. The rotary cutter is nice and sharp and you don't have to push down super hard to cut the fabric. I also like that there's a cover you can switch on for the cutter.The mat and ruler/guide are very helpful and make it so I can actually cut straight lines!

I bought this to cut down yardage of wool felt to fit on my die cutter mat. This bundle is a great value and was super easy to use for this project! It was precise and the blade was nice and sharp so I didn't have to press too hard to get a great cut.

I bought this for a project I am working on but when it arrived I was working on another project that I was able to use it for. Mat is fantastic ..no complaints........the ruler need the little grip tabs on the bottom of it because I noticed that when I put it down on a large piece of thin material, when trying to smooth the material...it moves other than that...it's great......the rotary cutter...cuts fantastically, the biggest issue I see with this particular cutter is safety, the whole time I used it, I was afraid I was going to end up cutting myself, that blade is super sharp, which is exactly what I but the stick rotary cutter just feels unsafe, maybe it's my own inexperience with it but I had a different one before and I don't remember feeling this way when using it. (It was also Fiskars) I bought all of these as replacement items that I lost in a fire.EDIT: I used this whole set for hours yesterday and the more I used it the more I became comfortable with using the rotary cutter, it's just common sense things, don't cut towards yourself, fingers etc. The blade is extremely sharp and I didn't cut myself once.

This is the best I could have asked for! I'm happy with the size, the material and the toughness it presents to my working leather on it. I'm glad I decided to purchase this over other brands. I could have gone a little smaller in size, for travel/moving out around from shop to home..... But I'm still happy with this.

This is a wonderful starter set. The rotary cutter is simple to use and has a retractable cover for the blade. It is simple to change the blade, as well. It is easily used by both lefties and righties. The only complaint is that the handle is a bit thin. It would be easier on my hands if a little thicker, but I could definitely use this one forever if I had no other options. The blade size is perfect for most jobs. The ruler is clearly marked, and has extra markings for seam allowance (1/2 extra at two edges, marked in 1/4" increments). This is the best feature of the entire set, in my opinion. Very helpful. It also has 30, 45, & 60 degree angles clearly marked on two corners (one with seam allowance and one without). The mat is what I fight with the most. It is clearly marked and very nice-looking, but dulls the blades pretty quickly. I am told this is normal with the grey and white mats. This one is no exception. My blade went from very sharp to completely dull in a matter of days. I was working on a twin-size H-block puzzle quilt and couldn't get all the pieces cut from one blade. I have the titanium ones being shipped now. Maybe they will fare better. All in all, this is a great set. When I get ready, though, I will be purchasing a different mat and gifting this one on. Hope this review helps. Would buy the set again. It was a great deal, and the blades dull faster, but I'm hoping the better blades solve that problem. Happy cutting!

So, for years I have made a baby quilt every time there was a new little one in the family. I do fairly simple designs but always try to tell a story. I always cut guides from card board to measure shapes and cut them with scissors. As you may imagine it took considerable time. I saw one of these cutting systems in a fabric store but the price was up there. I've recently been ordering from amazon, we live in the middle of national forest and the nearest stop light is 70 miles away. So shopping is a day trip. Anyhow, I decided that this might really help me and the price was much better on amazon. I was willing to take a chance, I ordered it and made a quilt for my new grand baby that is arriving in May. The design I used needed very exacting cuts, I expected it to take me a month just to get the top done let alone put it together. Start to finish it took me 5 days, about 25 hours. Being that I'm self taught I imagine others could have done it faster but I was very please with the quality I could turn out because of my more exact cuts. It made it much easier on my back as well, not as many hours spent bent over to cut. Then I had intended to store it flat in it's box under my bed, but my husband accidentally took the whole thing to the dump, I liked it so much I ordered it again. So truly it was worth twice the price to me.

This is definitely a great buy!I like how this item was sold as a combo so I didn't have to do extra research to find the 3 pieces that I was looking for.The quality is superior and the value for the money is definitely worth the purchase.The mat comes in inches so if you like using the imperial version of measurement best, then this an absolute must!The mat is double-sided so it's almost like getting two mats for the price of one!The cutter is simple to use and very nice to handle, even if you have arthritis, gripping is made easy.There is a button on the cutter to cover the blade when not in use, providing great protection against accidental cuts!The ruler is very large and the acrylicmakes reading the numbers super easy and clear.I highly recommend this item and I will definitely buy again for myself, or as a gift!Thank you Fiskars for an amazing item!
