For the little historians
Excellent hard-bound book of high quality with the material very attractively presented in a clear manner. This will be a highlight on our book shelfs for years to come - we’re quite traditional. Our 9-year old daughter considers herself an expert on the topic even though she has only read the children’s biography’s of Anne Frank and Adolf Hitler. Though she visited the Imperial War Museum a couple of times. This will help to put things in more perspective. And I might use it for some guided reading sessions with her.The book provides good overviews of the the main characters and main battles of the war. And it is all very well illustrated. However I actually ordered this book for our 6-year old boy who developed an even more curious fascination with the Second World War. It might be genetic, which would be a bit scary. It started with these DK flip books about the First and Second World War that somehow triggered his interest. He is particularly drawn to to the topic that he keeps asking questions about, like “why did the Germans have the best tanks?”.So even though he can only read parts himself we decided to order this book for his as a holiday gift, that he can browse through while travelling. THe gift was very well received. And indeed triggered interest from his or older sister.

Fabulous book for both children and adults!
My 14 year old son is really into WW2 and got this as a small extra at Christmas and he loves it. His best friend has already asked for this book as a birthday present in April. The way it is presented makes reading it really easy to follow and the graphics make it easy to retain the information.Excellent book.

Great for a school project
Bought as a present for a nine year old grandchild beginning a school project on, I had checked it on line to ensure there was not too much information here and was anxious about the level of detail, i.e. I did not want him to be shocked by the content. It proved to be very useful and immediately popular with hime and his friends. It deals with a wide range of WWII issues but at a good level for him.

Interesting and very informative book for youngsters who are interested in the history of the War.
Grandson (5, going on 9) wanted to know about the Second World War and his dad has been reading this to him. He has found itvery interesting and easy to understand, and the illustrations cover every aspect of the war. When he finally goes to primary schooland learns to read a lot better then I am sure this will be one of his favourite books. Would recommend for young children to givethem an idea of the history of the War, if they are at all interested in this type of thing from a young age.
