I purchased this in order to keep my kids out of personal items in my room. Havent had a problem yet, but I remember snooping when I was a kid so I figured Id be safe now instead of regretting it later. Let me start by saying, this is a security box, not a safe. It makes it harder for people to access an item, it does not prevent theft. You can simply carry this away and open it with a hammer or pry bar later. It is good for keeping valuables, medicines, handguns, 'adult' items, away from prying eyes or little hands. It will not prevent their theft by anyone who does not care about it being obvious. You will need to buy a real SAFE for that, if you want to keep a burglur or motivated person from accessing your items, not a security box. My thoughts for this kind of item.... a child, teenager, coworker,or houseguest may want to snoop or discretely steal an item, but rarely do they want to get caught for it or make it obvious they did it. That is what this is for. If someone wants inside they can get in, but it will be obvious and they will be found out. Example: Your teenager will not steal your painkillers from this box without you seeing the box was pryed open or simply gone, getting your attention is not what they want. Same goes for playing with your handgun while you are away, or stealing some earrings to pay for a party they have planned. Also keeps housekeeper, coworkers, etc. from getting into something and making it obvious they did so. Think of it like the metal cash drawers used at picnics or charity events, they keep people from getting in, but doesnt keep someone from just leaving with the whole thing! Programing the security code was simple, only took a few minutes including the time to read the manual. You can also just use the key if you choose. This box fits perfectly inside my dresser drawer, the dial to open the safe just barely rubs the top when opening/closing the drawer, so be sure to check your dimensions prior to ordering if that is what you are planning. The box is relatively lightweight, so if you plan on unsing it as a mobile security box, it will suit your needs. The box seems well made, yet lightweight. Wont stop a motivated person from getting access, but it will stop a 'snoop' or someone who does not want it to be obvious they broke into it. Comes with 2 keys and simple instructions. Works perfectly, assuming you need a security box and not a safe. 'SentrySafe' is the name of the company, 'Security Box' is the name of this particular item.

Great size, easy open and lock with key or code (multiple codes actually). I just keep stuff there to avoid my kid snooping but it’s nice and portable.

Key Pad does not work Properly. Batteries replaced and still it does not work. So for Now I will just use the key and keep trying to make it work. Hopefully it will

Love these boxes! I’ve bought 5 of these security boxes - several as gifts. It’s obviously not super heavy duty, but does the job perfectly. For those say it’s not very secure, let me ask you this: Have you tried to break into it when the batteries died and you can’t find the key? Happened to me once and I had to pretty much destroy the box to gain entry. I could not believe the effort it took to get it open. ( with ordinary tools like a screw driver and pliers) . Very impressive IMHO. Size is perfect for small items.

Its a great product for the price if you are buying it for a child to protect their valuable's from other children or siblings. But the shipping took forever I had the product on Amazon Prime Shipping plan but I didn't getting in two or three day, instead I got it ten days later. But I will not hold the shipping time against them because it may not be their fault When I received the SentrySafe Security Box it was broken. There was a small piece that broke that controlled the locking mechanism. I called customer support I had a very bad experience with the rudeness and they keep hanging up on me. So when I put money and my keys into the security box and entered the combination and turned the handle the box wouldn't open; I would have to try turning the handle while holding the box upside down. I was very disappointed about the quality of SentrySafe Electronic Security Box; if you are planning to put a weapon of any kind in the box DONT because its very cheaply made. The battery cover is inside the box on the opening lid; which keeps the 4 AA battery's from falling out; but the cover falls off easily letting the battery's fall out so make sure you have the key handy. Pro's: -Great Price -Great for Children -Foam on the bottom to protect your safes content and the foam is removable -2 emergency key's -Made out of aluminum Con's -Cheaply made -Broken out of the box -Foam is only on the bottom and not the sides -Loose battery cover letting the battery's easily fall out -The aluminum on the bottom and sides seems thick, is hollow and thin like the lid -The box's combination can be reset easily by pressing a button on the side, but if someone flips upside down and tilts it side to side until it beeps 2 times then they can enter in a new combination unlocking the safe. -The key holes can easily be picked with anything laying around -The spring loaded lid gets stuck opening at times making you to manually open it up but its not to big of a deal I don't like how this safe was made its cheap and not worth the money. I would buy a 100 dollar safe, because you would get more for your money. I was very Disappointed from the SentrySafe ESB-3 Electronic Security Box, its more of a child's safe or toy then anything else. I tried to call customer support about the broken safe out of the box and had a very bad experience with them being very rude to me here's the Conversion(I will not use the Support staffs name): Me: *I called customer support* Me: *Placed on hold for 34 minutes* Support: "Hello and Thank you waiting" Me: "Hello I bought the SentrySafe ESB-3 Electronic Security Box and it arrived at my house broken out of the box" Support: "O I'm sorry to hear that lets see what we can do, so when did you realizes the Safe was broken" Me: "The first time I put something in it and it wouldn't open" Support: "Are you sure you are using it right?" Me: "Yes I am" Support: "I don't think you are" Me: "excuse me?" Support: "I'll tell you how to open it" Me: "ok then" Support: "the default combination is 1234 or 0000" Me: "I tried that it didn't work" Support: "put the key into the slot and turn it then turn the unlock knob" Me: "I tried that the unlock knob turns but it wont open" Support: "How did it get broken?" Me: "I don't know Its was broken out the box" Support: "I believe you broke, sir" Me: "Are you kidding me?" Support: "No I think you broke it" Me: "Really I had the safe for less then 2 hours" Support: "Yes and you are trying to get a new safe for free" Me: "I don't want a new safe I just want the safe originally bought" Support: "No you don't" Me: "I think it broke in the mail or at the factory" Support: "I think it broke as soon as it got to your house in your hands" Me: "Can I talk to your manager" Support: "NO" Support: *hangs up* Me: "Hello? We got this for the schools PTA and it was super easy to set up. It comes with 2 keys and after you put the batteries in you can set up 2 pins It is in the heavier side but we don't carry this all the time. I love that if the battery runs out or you forget the password you can use the keys to unlock it. The locking mechanism works and we love the handle. It also comes with foam insert that makes it super quiet when you are carrying it around. The best part is that small enough to fit in our locked cabinet and big enough to fit everything we need to go in there.

Great so far. Ensure to use the recommended battery type (not rechageable). Kept the overide key in hand to avoid lockout in case battery are drained.

A great little safe. Really easy to set up, a good size for sliding under the bed or a couch so that it's out of sight. The number pad is a great feature making it easier to share access with others.

We had to get a lockbox with keypad code for the health care workers for my elderly Mom. It is the only way they are allowed to dispense her medication - blister packs IN a lockbox. This is working very well. It's simple to use and has saved me from running up to her suite in an assisted living facility two times a day/seven days a week. Her hands are so crippled from arthritis, she couldn't get into it even if she wanted to.
