I was trying to replace my old Yankee Drill, an excellent tool but hard to find replacement bits for anymore. I was thinking that this tool might be a decent replacement but was disappointed after a few attempts to use it. Here are the reasons for my disappointment:1) Drill part of bits not square to hex on larger drill which makes drilling a straight hole difficult.2) Bits were / are hard to insert and extract into driver - was expecting normal insert and extract but the spring coller and detent ball mechanism do not function well.3) The bits do not fit in the handle as they do for my Yankee Drill4) The braided driving pattern on shaft is not finished, sharp as a razor, be careful.Functionally, out of the box, I had to oil it up and work it quite a bit to keep it from jamming up in use and although it works okay now it is consistently just okay, not excellent or even good action wise.I will be looking at other options but sure wish I could find bits for my old Yankee Drill. It still works great I just don't have a couple of bits I used to use consistently.Hope that helps anyone... maybe I got a lemon and just needed to send in for a replacement but I like many others don't get to things right away on occasion. Next time I will but it will not be this tool that is for sure.

Very similar to my old Yankee push drill. Works and is very handy.

This is the handiest gadget to have around the house. Works quickly with several drill bits to start a hole, and will also hold screw driver tips . Ratchets smoothly for screws, and reverses as well. Also works in non ratcheting position. It is comfortable in your hand, and narrow enough to fit in tight places.

At first it was a little confusing but once I got the hang of it, it really works well. Best for just needing a quick whole you would normally pull the drill out for but don't have a power supply handy. Bought two. Make sure you machine oil it first on the gears and it drills so smooth.

Sorry that I can't review this item yet as I won't be using it for some months. I'm posting to point out how annnoying it is to be asked to come up with an *essay* after roughly every fifth purchase. At its logical extreme this would flood every product page with potentially hundreds of reviews, most of them written in haste and without much thoujght. Isn't it better to allow a simple star rating without requiring narration, and make written reviews *optional* -- intended for those who have the time available or, more importantyl, something useful to say?

I bought this tool primarily for the screw driver function, and for that, it works brilliantly. I particularly like the the push pull function for quickly driving screws and small bolts, and then switching to the ratcheting function to tighten them all the way down. It speeds up the process considerably, especially for longer machine screws. I have not had occasion to use it for drilling holes, but it seem to have plenty of torque and would probably work quite well. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I loved it. I just had a small item to hang and it did the trick in no time. No dragging out an electric drill, no waiting for the cordless drill to charge up for a 2 minute job. I loved it. I don;t know how it will do on a larger job but I see no reason for it not to perform just as well. Not to heavy, good for me!
