Holy Grail of Sleep Headphones?!
I might have finally found the holy grail for my sleeping situation. About me: I sometimes have a hard time falling asleep so I love going to sleep listening to my current audible book. Of course I don’t want it to play for too long so I usually set a 7 minute sleep timer but on the nights I have a hard time falling asleep I have to keep resetting it. Also I’m a light sleeper and my husband has started snoring so he wakes me up in the night or early morning. I usually end up waking up about an hour and a half before my alarm is set. I’ve tried so many things to keep me asleep when my husband snores. Mack’s Ultra Soft foam ear plugs - these are fairly comfortable and work great at blocking the noise, but sometimes my ears are so sore in the morning and I can’t listen to my audible to fall asleep. Loop sleep ear plugs - these are comfortable and fairly effective at blocking sounds but sometimes they fall out and of course I can’t listen to my audible. Bluetooth sleep headband - these are comfy and work OK for listening to a story as you fall asleep, but they do not help me block out the snoring at all. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I’ll try playing some kind of sleep music, but the snoring breaks through too much for me to be able to fall asleep. Hearprotek wireless sleep earbuds - I tried these for about two weeks. They worked great for falling asleep and they are relatively comfortable, but they would sometimes fall out. I found the wires connecting them to each other to be annoying. AirPod Pros w/ANC - I do not recommend this for sleeping, but I have done it. They work great for listening to a story while you fall asleep and blocking noise, but they are not comfortable at all. One nice thing that you can keep resetting the seven minute sleep timer by just clicking on the AirPod, but that’s about the only plus. Now for these sound cores. I switched to the smallest silicone tips (they also have foam ones for more sound blocking, but they say they’re less comfortable). You can also switch out the little silicone pieces that sit in the other part of your ear, but I stayed with the default ones. I listened to my Audible via Bluetooth and then let it switch to snore masking sounds when I fell asleep - with the volume at 30%. I did opt to back up my book a little bit the next time I listened. I do recall waking up twice and I could kind of hear my husband snoring, but I was able to fall right back asleep with the “whispering brook” sounds. In the morning the app suggested a different snore masking sound based on its analysis of the snores it heard in the night. It suggested the “himalayan downpour” - which I look forward to giving my husband a hard time about. I don’t think this will mask sounds as well as the foam earplugs, but they’re more comfortable and I’ll happily take that trade off to be able to listen to my story when I fall asleep. I’ll update my review if I change my mind down the road but so far so good.

Hesitantly Optimistic
As I get older, I find that I have more difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. I usually have an air filter running to drown out unwanted noises, but following a recent trip out of town, I discovered I need something that I can easily travel with. I tried a couple of cheaper sleep earbuds of different sizes and simply could not sleep with them in. I have fairly small ears and am a side sleeper. I finally gave up trying to find an economical solution and purchased the Soundcore Sleep A30. The case is very smooth and pleasant to the touch. It feels high-end and of good quality. The buds themselves are really tiny! The silicone tips and wings are squishy and flexible. I love that Soundcore included a variety of tips and wings for a custom fit, and I selected the smallest sizes available. It was really easy to swap them out and they fit snugly in my ears. I am not concerned about them falling out, and if they do happen to get lost, there is a handy function in the settings that makes them beep at a very high decibel. Connecting to Bluetooth was not overtly complicated, but I do recommend using the QR Code in the box to read the user manual before getting started. My first night to sleep with the earbuds was a bit challenging, but I think I may have had the buds positioned incorrectly. Last night I turned the buds more horizontally according to the picture in the user manual and was able to sleep through the night. Once placed in a proper position, they were quite comfortable. The battery seems to be very good so far, and it lasted the whole night. The app has a ton of settings and options. You can even create your own white noise mix. The app and the user manual provide tips on how to maximize battery life using various settings. Local mode seems to be a better choice than Bluetooth mode for longevity. I noted the ACN works wonderfully for low frequency noises, though you do have to give it a couple of minutes to fully kick in. It almost eliminates the noise of an annoying ceiling fan in my office, but I can still hear when someone sends a chat message. There is functionality for making and receiving phone calls in the app settings, though I do not have that turned on and have not tested it, yet. I am not an audiophile, but music and shows sound fine to me. I am hesitantly optimistic that I finally found sleep earbuds that will work for me!

Overpriced and underfunctional
These are non-functional for their intended purpose unless you require very little sleep. First, the volume level of these speakers seems very low by default. Compared to my other earbuds (an older set of Space A40s and a set of Bose QuietComfort 2024 earbuds that I tried), these required a much higher volume level across all types of listening scenarios. The volume issue is relevant because it affects the earbuds' noise masking/cancelling capabilities as well as how much battery life you can expect from one full charge. I wanted earbuds that I could use with ANC on for at least 6+ hours to block my partner's snoring. I also wanted to be able to stream ambient sounds/music/white noise over bluetooth the whole night as a sleep aid. (I tried the built-in noise masking options, including the option to customize your masking sound, and disliked how low-quality and harsh they all sounded.) These earbuds only last 6.5 hours max when brand new in my preferred mode of use. I need more sleep than 6.5 hours most nights, and because lithium ion batteries degrade, these buds would only be even partially functional as a sleep aid for me for a few months, if that. These buds thus seem like a poor value for the money for how I want to use them. The A30s also seem overpriced, even by Anker's standards, because they just announced an upgraded version of these buds (advertised to have a longer battery life than these regular A30s) that will be sold for $20 less than the launch price and advertised MSRP of the original A30s. I also strongly dislike the shoehorning of AI bloat in the updated soundcore app. The "brainwave audio" tracks are all quite annoying/distracting, imo, and it looks like Anker generated a bunch of non-cohesive AI slop images to accompany the sleep tips portion of the app. Sucks that Anker would rather generate cheap visual soup than hire designers or artists who could create cohesive and relevant art. The transition from bluetooth audio to the noise masking sound in local audio mode, which can be triggered when sleep is detected to preserve battery life, was abrupt enough (due to how much louder the the noise-masking sound with no ANC seemed compared to the volume of bluetooth audio + ANC) that it woke me from sleep several times, which was also pretty annoying. I don't care about or even really trust the accuracy of the sleep tracking features in the soundcore app/these earbuds, so I didn't test or even set up that part of the app. As far as positives go, the buds really are small and lightweight. I struggled to find a good combination of ear tips and wings that would lead to a secure, noise-blocking fit in each ear, but that's not unusual for me. The silicone material seemed nice enough, and I liked the sliding case lid. Overall, I cannot recommend the Sleep A30s as a sleep aid. The set I tried is being returned due to the short battery life when brand new and the lack of good app features or built-in noise masking sounds.

I'm Really Torn - But Very Good Support
I have had these for two weeks so far. There are some really good and really poor aspects to these earbuds. The Good: 1. They are extremely comfortable. I am a side sleeper and, for me, they fit very well and are comfortable throughout the night. 2. The sound quality is excellent. In binaural sleep mode, the sounds are crystal clear and it feels like the sound is floating through my head. Very relaxing. 3. The collection of sounds is excellent, and the alarm feature works really well. Brainwave and white noise work exceptionally well and sound great. The Bad: 1. ANC is essentially nonexistent. If you are used to Bose QC or even Apple, you will be sorely disappointed. When I switch the ANC on and off, I literally hear no difference. In the notes, they say if ANC is not working to jam the buds deeper in your ears or use the foam earbuds. This is literally PNC, not ANC. Don't advertise ANC if you can't provide it. 2. The snore feature is only OK. It should sense snoring and turn up the volume of the saved sounds. I really notice no difference whatsoever if there is ambient noise or not. 3. Charging on the buds is hit or miss. More specifically, the charging on the right bud is hit or miss. When you insert the buds into the case, the lights behind each of them start pulsing. This should indicate that the buds connected and have started charging. While my left bud charges to 100% every time, my right bud either does not charge at all or only charges to 80%. To be clear, the light behind the right bud is pulsing but charging is not happening correctly. I have cleaned the contacts and have checked connection. It seems the pulsing lights are for entertainment only and don't really show charging status. Net, while this has a lot of promise, it has frustrating issues that make its overall value very questionable. UPDATE 1/3/26: After seeing my review, Anker contacted me to discuss the issue and offered a replacement. The interaction with support was very good and I give them a lot of credit for standing by their item. Although the ANC is still weak, the replacement corrected the issues with partially charged earbud and the snore feature seems to work better. I have many Anker items but this is the 1st time I have dealt with their support. A great experience overall. I have updated from 3 stars to 4. I'm still discounting a star for the ANC but look forward to improvements in the next version.

I want to love them
I've owned these A30's for over three months, and I'm still trying to make them work for me. The TL;DR is that they're well-made and provide a ton of in-app audio options, but they're hard to recommend given the high price and the potential discomfort. The tech in these earbuds is really impressive. They are so ridiculously small and lightweight, but they don't feel cheap at all. The charging case also has a very premium feel to it, sliding it open and closed is very satisfying. And there are small lights inside the case which softly illuminate the buds, meaning you can easily grab them in the dark. It's a very clever design choice. The Soundcore app is clean and easy to use. If anything, it sometimes feels like there are *too many* options. There are so many different modes and sounds and soundscapes to choose from that it's almost overwhelming. The option to combine up to three different "white noises" is especially daunting at times. Obviously it's better to have more choices than less for a product like this, but it's still a lot to experiment with in reality. But again this isn't a criticism at all, it's just worth noting - these are not a "plug and play" product by any means, you'll be doing a lot of fiddling in the app to find the settings that work best for you. The sound quality is quite good considering these are sleep earbuds. They obviously don't have booming bass but the audio is clean and crisp. There are options to increase the "depth" of certain sounds (to make them sound like they're playing in a large theatre for example) which works really well. The battery is...fine. With ANC enabled, they don't last for an entire night. But considering the size of the earbuds, I think it's acceptable. The option to disable ANC when the buds detect that you're sleeping is excellent. Speaking of which, the sleep-tracking stuff is quite cool and seems to work well (the stats more-or-less match the stats from my smartwatch), and the snore-masking is also helpful (though in my experience it's not consistent). My main issues are with fit and comfort. I'm a side sleeper, I specifically purchased these because I saw other side sleepers recommending them. But even after all these months I'm still struggling with how they feel. The box comes with several different accessories (eartips and wings). The small eartips feel way too small, but the medium/large ones feel too large. They poke into my ears uncomfortably, causing pain and pressure. This is obviously multiplied when sleeping on my side, but even when laying on my back they aren't super comfortable. I've even purchased 3rd-party eartips but those haven't been much better. Additionally, they don't stay firmly in my ears regardless of size. More often than not I wake up to find at least one earbud somewhere in my blankets. The only "solution" to this seems to be twisting and pushing them deeper in my ears, but that only makes them more uncomfortable and painful. I debated returning these more than once, but I really desperately want to make them work. There's just so much to like about them. There's a ton of impressive technology in these tiny earbuds and even in the charging case (the snore masking for example). There are certain nights where they do just kind of *click*, helping me fall asleep and stay asleep - but those are only on nights where I'm already exhausted. I'm really conflicted on these. On one hand they're so impressive, and user-friendly, and the app has so many audio options. On the other hand, the actual day-to-day experience of using them is inconsistent (to put it lightly). They're not super comfortable (especially when sleeping on my side), they fall out easily no matter what I do, and the battery life is just okay (which again is understandable, but still it's obviously an annoyance). I think if they were cheaper - say closer to $100 - I'd recommend them with caveats. But for $229 (though they often go on sale for $180-$200) they are a much tougher sell. That's a lot of money for earbuds, and considering the mixed reviews and my own experiences with them, they certainly won't work for everybody. So it's a gamble. Considering the price and the fact that they require a lot of trial-and-error, I think it would be nice if they came with a longer "trial period" (like how some mattress companies gives you months or even a year to get your money back if they don't work out for you). I also wish that they offered more unique eartip sizes in the box, simply because it's so difficult to "dial these in". But for what they are, and how much they cost, I can't quite recommend them. They have a lot of pros, but the cons are too fundamental, and too big to ignore.

Will help with noisy neighbors
Bought these for my wife and I because of our noisy upstairs neighbors. They do a great job of blocking out noise, I was so relieved to finally get a good nights sleep because of these things. They're comfortable enough for sleeping on your side. I end up passing out just fine and I'm a pretty light sleeper. Only complaint I have is that the white noise stops playing after awhile. I play rain sounds to fall asleep and when I wake up it's not playing anymore and my wife says it's playing on hers? I think the apps just glitchy like other people have stated, but these have seriously been a huge relief for us and are worth the price. EDIT: my wifes right earbud randomly stopped working. I managed to get it working again but apparently this is a common issue. I ended up ordering a new pair and returning that pair just incase. I agree with most people in here, for a $200 pair of headphones that type of stuff shouldn't happen.

Honest review after 7 nights from a side sleep with small ears and small ear canals.
Full disclosure - I have smaller ears and canals, and I am a side sleeper and I have been using these for the last 7 days. I am moving to a new town and decided to rent an apartment for a year to help me decide where to buy a house. Well, the apartment walls and floors are not well insulated. I hear footsteps, creaking floors, snoring through the wall, and sometimes can hear the tv shows they watch. Needless to say, I was having serious trouble sleeping. I could fall asleep pretty well (go to bed early), but I would be awakened at some point, or several points, in the night by all these noises, banging, walking, creaking, and snoring and was not able to get back to sleep. I needed something to help. I tried Mack's foam ear plugs. They work pretty good for noise reduction, but my ears would hurt and throb making my sleep difficult in that way. I even had the small ears size. They were comfortable to side sleep with. I bought some fake Loop alternatives as just ear plugs. They were comfortable, did not throb like the Mack's in my ears, but did not block out enough sound. When I tried a bigger ear plug piece, I found the throbbing ear syndrome again. These were comfortable to side sleep with though. I then bought a cheap knock off brand of "sleep buds". They were the most comfortable thus far. They would bluetooth to my phone so I could play either music or some white noise from my phone. They claimed to have ANC. They were helpful to block out some sound because of the ear fit, and because they could bluetooth to my phone for music or white noise. However, with the ANC on or off, I did not detect any difference in sound reduction. These were kidney bean shaped sleep buds and did not stick out much from my ear. The ear plug piece was comfortable, but the harder plastic part would start to be annoying after a few hours when on my side. They were ok. Sound quality was decent. Maybe a C+ for an overall grade for these. However, they didn't stop all the sounds and I still woke up occasionally. I hesitantly tried the A30's. This is no small investment! With the rubbery ear plug piece and ear fin, these buds were comfortable. While on my side, they have been the most comfortable thus far. I can sleep well with them in actually. I still have a little bit of pressure while on my side, but some nifty pillow management helped relieve the pressure. I am using the attachments they came with out of the box. I really like the white noise sounds. I have Still Lake as my favorite. It is a sutble sound that helps my brain drift off. With the fit of the A30 alone, I can block out most of the noise for the night with these standard size pieces without using ANC. Last night, I had both my wife snoring and banging on the ceiling above. (To be honest, my wife's snoring is not super loud but enough to wake me up). Then I realized I didn't have the ANC on. Well, i turned the ANC on and WOW what a difference. It was almost like I had over the ear headphones with ANC on. All that noise disappeared. I was very impressed, at least I recall being impressed. I was asleep!! The sound quality is perfect for night time sleeping. In reading other reviews, I agree that these are not your everyday all day ear buds, they are really designed for sleeping only. The ANC works really well and I noted quite a difference between on and off. Last night I set them to use ANC until I was alseep and then go to local mode. After 8 hours, I still had 30% of the battery left in each ear bud. So far, the battery life has been great. I have yet to spend a whole night with bluetooth and ANC on, however. I haven't needed to. I know at $200 it seems like a lot to spend for ear buds that you only use for sleep and that aren't designed for super high quality audio sounds. However, this week has been the best sleep week I've had in two months since those neighbors upstairs moved in. You do need several nights to get used to the fit and feel. Not because they are uncomfortable, but because when something new is in your ear and you aren't used to it, it can feel funny and weird which may keep you awake instead of helping you sleep. But, give it a few nights, and if you are like me, they get more comfortable the more you wear them. I can sleep on my side with these but I need a soft pillow. A really firm pillow would hurt my ears after a few hours, as it would everyone else with anything in their ear. Everyone is a different size and shape, but I have found these A30's to be comfortable, and of high quality. The app is full of options to help customize the experience, and they do what they claim they will do. After this week, my wife (who is very thrifty) is asking if she can try these out and maybe get a pair because she notices such a difference in my morning wakefulness. Hope this helps those of you out there like me needed something to help get your sleep back. I would definitely buy again and am grateful for this product.

Lightweight, Comfortable, and Worth the Price for Better Sleep
These have genuinely improved my sleep. The peace and quiet they create is unmatched. They’re extremely lightweight, once they’re in, I barely feel them. There was slight ear fatigue the first few nights, but that went away after adjusting. The multiple ear tip sizes make it easy to find a secure and comfortable fit for overnight use. The app integration is where these shine. You can connect to Spotify or use built-in sleep sounds. If you stick with the app’s sleep mode, it transitions automatically, switching to white noise once you fall asleep and eventually shutting off completely so there’s no constant stimulation. There are music options, white noise, remixes, sleep sounds, brainwave sounds, and even bedtime stories. The case is compact and sleep-friendly, with subtle lighting that isn’t intrusive at night. For the price, they deliver real value. If deep, uninterrupted sleep matters to you, these are worth it.
