HP Spectre USB-C Travel Dock - for Notebook - USB Type C - Network (RJ-45) - HDMI - VGA - Wired

I have it connected with my HP spectre folio, I have a monitor, mouse and keyboard connected to it. It works flawlessly and it’s small and out the way

The product is fine, I have another one exactly like it that works great with my HP Spectre laptop and an HP Elite laptop, providing crucial HDMI and VGA video outputs (and USB ports) for when you do presentations in a customer's conference room where you typically find an HDMI or VGA cable that connects your laptop to their projector. This is a travel dock for that reason; for a stationary dock, it may be better to purchase one that has dual DisplayPort outputs. However, the second one I just purchased, sold by Amazon itself, showed up as an unsealed empty box that showed signs of wear. I might have expected something like that from a third party seller but not from Amazon.

This works fantastically with my new HP Spectre 13t. Network plug over wifi is noticeable. Thunderbolt 3 pass-through takes care of charging, so only 1 cable goes to notebook. Also a spot for wireless mouse link. This is compact and lightweight for easy packing.

Usbc connected dock, (saving othe laptop connections if needed) power and data pass through slim so travels flat and nice cord hold notch in case.This is the second one we bought for the office with no troubles.

This is a preliminary review since I just got the dock a couple of days ago, but it works fine with the Spectre Folio. I have used the HDMI port, the VGA port, the ethernet port, and a USB A port(with a wired mouse). Those all worked without any fuss. The VGA picture, on an old LCD TV, is in a 4:3 aspect ratio, so some farther adjustment is needed. The ethernet internet speed was somewhat slower than my wi-fi internet connection, which surprised me, but the whole internet connectivity thing is quite variable here anyway.There is a dc “pass-through” which I have not tried. You can hook the power supply up to the dock via a usb-c connector on the end of the dock, and then hook the dock’s usb cable to the Spectre. Presumably you can still use the rest of the dock’s connectors while doing this. This still needs to be evaluated.Documentation is awful: there is a reasonable user’s guide on the hp support site. If nothing breaks, I have to say that this is a fine auxiliary for the Spectre Folio.

I bought it because my HP PC recommended docking is that one. I had issues with the power and with frequent disconnections of the keyboard. Overall I'm not happy with it and would recommend to find alternatives if you want a permanent docking solution.

This adapter is so convenient! At a great price and its lightweight and portable. im able to use it in the office and when I travel for business.

The company I purchased this from through Amazon has been great. The fault lies with HP themselves. One would think that when HP makes a laptop called Spectra (which I have) and they make a travel dock called Spectra (which I bought specifically because it was a Spectra) that stupid me, I thought they would be compatible. I had all kinds of problems and finally called HP customer service and found an absolutely wonderful woman in India named Nikita who called me back several times over the next week or so, only to find out that the Spectra dock is NOT compatible with the Spectra laptop. She had gone through their in house information and found that they have nothing to do with one another and do not work with each other. Whoever put that name on it should lose their job!! I emailed the seller and they took it back quickly, no further questions asked. However, it caused other problems with my laptop which took a little while to sort out. Do not buy this product if you have a Spectra laptop.
