Ultimate Soul Collection

This album makes you feel like you are younger again! I got this one in addition to Incredible Soul Collection and now it fulfills all my expectations of the songs I really enjoyed then and now in the present. I like to play them to exercise to because funky dancing seems to make my workout even more active and more happy and more intense! And I love playing these in my Mustang convertible driving in Hawaii!! Some of these songs are very sincere to me, and bring back many great memories that make me either smile or even get teary-eyed. I love them that much!

This collection of some of the most admired music in the history of R&B. I had been waiting on a great collection and now that I found just this one so far, I cannot tell you the joy it brings to sit and listen to some of the most prolific artists of our time. This CD should be purchased by everyone who loves R&B. You won't be disappointed. Great sounds, good selections and worth the price on Amazon.

I am a fan of music from the 60's and 70's. Definitely love disco music. I grew up during the 50's when soul music first started and I will always be a big fan. Had to add this to my collection - even though I have most of the cuts on different media.

This is a great collection from yesteryear. Along with the other two CD's I bought there are few Motown hit songs I do not have.

This is absolutely what it says on the tin... All original artists. I think there must have been a mix up in the listings for some customers. Buy this album if you have ever thought "I want a Blues Brothers type album, but not the soundtrack, the music that influenced it". Everytime I hear "Land of 1000 Dances" I think or the end credits of "The Great Outdoors" and everytime I hear "Soul Finger" I think of "Spies Like Us". You can't help but recognise "Green Onions", "Soul Man", "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" from Blues Brothers and "Higher and Higher" reminds me of Ghostbusters 2.Dan Aykroyd clearly loves Soul Music and has influenced me through the power of cinema."Memphis Soul Stew" is amazing and no Soul Collection is complete without Fontella Bass singing "Rescue Me".

I like everything about these collections of soul tracks both familiar and less so. Worth every penny!

Let me assure you, there is not one, re-record, on this Great 2 CD set.The previous reviewer has got it all wrong. This, and volume 2 are the finest classic Soul collections you could own.After collecting Soul collections for over 30 years. These are the Best. I urge you to buy both collections, Before they become deleted.
