This is fun and a good value.
You could do this yourself but what a pain. You get a very durable set up that performs well. My first 10 shots with this I didn't get anything because I was moving around too much. Finally set the camera down and took a nice long exposure. Bingo. Easy, fun, cheap, gives you an excuse to play with your lenses. What's not to like?

Many shape options at a decent price
My daughter got these for a high school photography project and is still working on the technique. These were a little difficult to manipulate at first, but with some practice and study well worth it. Bokeh is not an easy technique to master and we are still working on it. These do not come with a manual so you will need to know how to perform this photography skill or get a book/research the internet to find out how to work it best. Note you will have to also be careful to get these on the lens snug and readjust as you readjust the focus.Again, good purchase with several options in shapes, just make sure you know how to perform this technique or get a book to help guide you

Cheap
This was a big waste of money. I cannot believe how tacky these pieces are for the money I spent. I was expecting something a little bit better then super cheap plastic that tears when you take them off the sheets. I feel this product is very misleading. I saw all the hype on this for facebook and wanted these for Xmas, but did not get so I was so super excited to order them. Wanted to cry when I opened the package of cheap junk. These were worse then a crummy cracker jack toy when I was a kid. Not crazy how they work, but have not played with them enough. I for see having to replace these often because they are so cheaply made if i ever start to like them. Was not impressed with the pictures that were on them. Absolutely no instructions on the best ways to use them and had to do my own searching for it. I have to find my own storage for them because they did not even come with a container to put them in. Other wise they will be scattered all over my camera bag. Boo on this product :( Wished I would have not torn them all apart and sent them back to get my money refunded.

was ok
The Product is made of a hard plastic and it is kinda difficult to use/mount on the camera. i was hoping it was going to be something of a lens cover that screwed on or snapped on and was made of a solid plastic instead of a cut out. i also feel like it is a little over priced, i would happy pay 10-15, not 25 /:also it doesn't work properly with every single lens. i have the default lens that comes with the cannon EOS rebel t3i and it didn't work too well.but! it's not terrible just little things that bothered me.

Not a great value.
Pros:The pieces are easy to setup and use.The resulting images are fun and look good with the right light sources and apertures used. The kit folds flat and is very portable.Cons:The quality of the kit seems very cheap for the price. The holder is extremely flimsy does not fit lenses securely.

Bokeh effects
It does work. You do need a fast lens meaning greater than 2.8 (lower number means wider aperture opening). So a 1.4 or 1.8 is excellent. Make sure the lights are far enough behind and out of the Depth of Field focus range to get better results. The discs seem sturdy but the mounting legs could break so attach some black electrical tape to the legs for better reinforcement. If you choose to cut your own design in the aperture discs use a a hobby scalpel that has a top finger mount to swivels similar to a leather crafters knife.

OK product..works but not for FX and needs some tweaking
I just got it today and tested it right away it does gives me great bokeh with nikkor 50mm 1.8g but i need to turn dx mode of my d610..i already tweaked the bracket slot but super gluing it with an old cheap 58mm step up ring this eliminate most of the light leaks that many customers are complaining.fyi to remove the cut out..get a cutter.dont pull it!! I just hope the DIY Photog include extra bracket slot.

Fun and easy!
This is a very enjoyable product, easy to use, just be sure of your lens size. There are several fun shapes plus you can make your own with the included blank shapes.
