The New Nintendo 3DS Japanese Model
After Nintendo only released the XL version of the New Nintendo 3DS here in the USA, I was bummed out. When I found the regular model for sale on Amazon.com, I thought it over and said why not. I've bought import games before, but this is my first import system ever. First the pros. It has a beautiful matte finish I just love! The screens are bigger than the first regular 3DS, and the special colored buttons(from SNES days)are awesome. It plays most of the American DS games, though I couldn't get the Sonic Collection for DS to work. The C-Stick feels nice and will work with any game that supported the Circle Pro. Even if you don't have many or any Japanese 3DS games, the Japanese eShop has lots of fun demos to download, and enjoy. Now the cons. It is region locked. Which means no playing your American 3DS games, and only Japanese language. The setup might seem tough at first, but just use your American 3DS to figure out the menus, on setting up the internet connection, and eShop account. It only uses a micro SD card, which is now located inside the back cover. You can upgrade to a larger micro SD, but you'll need a screwdriver to get the cover off. It doesn't come with a charge adapter, but you can use your American 3DS charger. The power button can be tough to press, but it just takes practice. The stylus is like the one from the original DS system. Why they couldn't make a thicker one is beyond me. I mostly just use a stylus from my American 3DS, but I can use the small New 3DS stylus if I have to. Also it can be rough getting it back in it's slot, thanks to the special hook on top to remove the front cover plate. Speaking of which it can be customized with cool face and back plates(only for sale in Japan)of all sorts of designs, but I'm happy with the sexy black plates it comes with. So bottom line is it worth it? That's up to you. If it never comes to our shores, I'm happy to have it.

Good feel. Compact. Solid...
I bought this and two other Japanese 3DS consoles just to add a little flavor to my modest DS collection. When you figure out the setup in Japanese, it works very well. Although it will not play U.S. region 3DS games, it will play the older DS games just fine. Note that all three of my consoles, supposedly Japanese, were made in China but what isn't these days..This one has a very good feeling matte finish and is a very solid unit unlike the recently purchased Japanese 3DS LLs which have very wobbly top screens. This is more compact and would make a good pocket companion. I would recommend this one, although I would much prefer a U.S. version if Nintendo ever gets around to this market.

Great condition!
The New Nintendo 3ds that I had received was in perfect working condition with only minor scratches on the face plates. As a bonus it arrived with 2 custom additional face plates. Overall would recommend this seller.

Although the device was in good enough condition
Although the device was in good enough condition, the buttons felt off and it did not feel brand new at all. In fact, it was covered in smudges and most of the buttons do not have firm, new presses as they should. A new one also lets you place the cover plate on yourself; does no come pre-installed. If I wanted a used 3DS, I would have gotten a used one. This said "new," but obviously it was not new. I held a real new one and that felt much better.

New-ish
The product came in unharmed and fully functional, but it was clearly not "new". No scratches on the screen or the like, but the piece of protective paper between the screens was missing upon opening. Also, the setup was already completed on my first booting up. No complaints other than it was not brand new and unopened.

New 3DS, but not THE New 3DS
I am honestly very disappointed and very angry. Not only did I not receive what was advertised, a NEW Nintendo 3DS, but I am unable to format the system memory. You see, whoever the seller is set up the 3DS before hand, and now I am unable to revert back to factory settings in order to hook up my Nintendo ID to the system. Not impressed.I am also unable to purchase faceplates, exclusive games, or use the C stick- things that this listing suggests you can do.Well, it looks like I won't be returning this right away, as I want to try and fix this mess- but it looks like I won't be playing Xenoblade in the near future, either.EDIT: The seller contacted me about a full refund for this product after I posted this, so that's cool, but I'm still bitter about not getting the product advertised, ESPECIALLY since MOTHER 2 is on the VC now. Oh well, looks like I'm stuck with Earthbound

Used product.
When opening the box I was surprised to find a used system that had scratches all over the bottom and had was already set up by the owner. The console was still functional but I was expecting a brand new product.

The product came 5 DAYS EARLY!! The product is perfect, no noticeable cosmetic flaws at ALL! All though, it did not come in the color I expected. But overall amazing product, would recommend.
