I have been using only an aftershave balm since it doesn’t contain any alcohol that gives a burning sensation. This product seems to be even better, but it's therapeutic activity is yet to be seen (I'll update my review in case I notice it as I keep shaving Mon-Sat). It's reasonably priced as well (many brands selling balms are terribly expensive). Great for sensitive skin like mine; its scent is nice. The only minor complaint I have is its warmth. The cooling sensation is a bit too much for me (could be a burning sensation if I would apply a little more). I request that Biotique takes care of this issue. Else, it seems to be a fantastic product.UPDATE: 08-Apr-2021The product still feels good, but so far I don't see any "therapeutic" benefits claimed by Biotique. The bottle and the cap seem to have design problems though. The screw cap broke despite my careful use (I didn't drop the bottle either) leading to accumulation of the balm on the inner wall of the cap especially when I would take it in a flight (I'll post a pic; since the cap is broken, there exists a gap even when you completely close the cap). You may be wondering how the balm reaches the cap (which makes you use or lose a lot of balm)! Well, after you finish the balm like half the bottle, it won't come out easily on squeezing the bottle unless you keep the bottle upside down for some time. As the product is a semi-solid one this bottle design leads to inconvenience. So, in my opinion, quality-by-design fails here; and these two issues prevented me from a reorder of this product. Don't wanna see a broken cap everytime I buy a bottle!UPDATE: 12-Apr-2021I have posted the picture of the broken cap. I have also taken one star off because of the faulty design and not-so-good plastic quality. Today was my last day of using the Biotique balm.

It is a good product, given that it’s herbal. But, it’s a different feeling.You don’t experience the sudden burn, dash of scent or dry feeling you get with the traditional alcohol based aftershave lotion.This one has a sticky feel, although it dries quickly. After I got used to this strange sticky feeling, I am now more comfortable with this one than the alcohol based aftershave. It kind seals the nicks, without the burning sensation or leaving the skin dry.I might never go to the alcohol based aftershave ever.Only complaint that I might have is the lack of perfume. A woody or spicy scent would make it the best aftershave to have.The sqeezy bottle it comes in is good, but it would be much much better if it came with a pump. But that’s just an over-ask for the environment.

I have been using this gel for 10+ years now. This product was quite unique then and after all this time, it still is. Apparently it is a purely herbal formula. It's consistency is ok and the scent it mild but pleasing. Also it has a unique cooling effect on the skin. It's meant to be used as an after shave balm but can be used anytime and anywhere on the body where you feel dryness. But as with most great products, the quality of this gel has been compromised over the years. Initially, it was much thicker and had a strong scent better than most after shave lotions. Today it is quite diluted and the scent is watered down even though the price has been same. But, even today it's a good product unlike any other in the market.

Not alcohol based. Has a pleasant smell and leaves a soothing and cooling effect on skin.
