3-D Explorer: Rain Forest Hardcover – November 6, 2018

My 6-year-old great-niece loves to read about animals and far-away places. I had just finished reading about the Amazon and searched for a book to introduce her to the incredible diversity of life in this amazing ecosystem. This book is perfect. The information in it is organized in layers from the forest floor to the highest canopy. Each layer is presented concisely and attractively with summaries and beautiful illustrations. The writing doesn’t “talk down” to older kids but yet isn’t beyond the comprehension of little ones. Both the 6-year-old and her 3-year-old sister love it. The pop-outs bring the information to life, and help kids understand the complex relationships of life in the rainforest. An extremely timely purchase as the Amazon fires became prominent in the news media shortly after I gifted this to my great-niece. The pop-outs were originally rather stiff and felt like they could be damaged with rough handling, so Daddy sat with the girls and opened each one carefully until they understood how they worked. I think they should hold up well.

I bought this book for my almost four-year-old that loves learning about animals from books that are reference book formatted and scientific. We’ve spent hours finding the various animals in their habitats using the keys. This book would be suitable for older kids too as it’s full of interesting and beautifully detailed diorama-like pop-ups as well as informational pages with diagrams and concept explanations. It’s not dumbed down in the least and is one of the nicest books in its genre I’ve ever seen. It’s basically like having a mini natural history museum in your living room.

This is a fantastic book! Beautiful pictures and well written. I know a lot about the rain forest and yet I learned several things by reading this book. The pop ups are gorgeous, detailed, and so much fun ...and educational! I bought the book for my 6 yr old grandson and he loves it. The book has lots of nice detail for older kids (and me) but can easily be used by younger kids by skipping some of the detail and focusing on pictures and pop ups. Use of the book for younger children would need to be supervised because the pop ups are sturdy but will not stand up to rough handling. As a retired science teacher I highly recommend this book for ANY age ...my Mom is 87 and she loved it too!

The media could not be loaded.  This is a fascinating, beautiful book. The pop-up pages have so many things to look! Other pages have lots of interesting info. I love looking at it with my grand niece and nephews, ages 10, 4, and 3. They are especially drawn to the pages that have “water,” wanting to touch and figure out makes it look like water.

Great book! Kids will love and adults want to see it too. Beautifully written and illustrated. Do not hesitate.

The book design is one that I've never seen or imagined - its innovative design and clever way of presenting the subject matter is both engaging and refreshening even to a grown-up adult like myself. I'll surely recommend this book to prospective buyers - I'm sure that readers, young and old, will be captivated by its compelling way of presenting facts related to the fast diminishing rain forest.

This is a very cool book for kids. It’s very colorful and a good learning tool.

The colors, pictures, layout and design are done in the most attractive and exciting way. A wonderful reading experience for all.

My grandson really enjoyed it for his birthday. It arrived in 24 hours!
