Winter Blues: Real Help is On Its Way to Your Ballcap
My seasonal blues start right at the equinox. By Dec. 21, the shortest day of the year, I'm practically comatose, craving carbohydrates and 10-hour naps. Around Labor Day this year, I decided this winter is going to be different: I'll remedy the situation before it gets the better of me. I needed something mobile. I wanted to attach the device to my own cap. I needed reliability and effectiveness. I chose this device and got all my wishes. If I do my part, I'm optimistic that this device will help drop-kick my winter blues. It's more economical to buy the device without a cap and use one you already have My advice: make sure your brim is sturdy, not flimsy, and relatively flat; that way the weight of the device won't drag the brim down -- it's not heavy but it's not weightless, either!) -- and the Velcro will attach better. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I had no problem attaching the device: the Velcro still stuck even tho' I pulled it off and repositioned it twice! Put on the cap and switch on the light first thing in the morning and leave it on as you go about your routine at home. (There are two brightness intensities; I've been starting with the lesser intensity, but I will likely change to the higher intensity as the days get shorter.) Keep in mind: this is therapy, not a fashion statement, so, honestly, don't leave the house wearing this thing. In reviews I've read for similar devices, a few people complained of seeing spots and getting headaches. My assumption is this: either the wearers are using a too-strong light intensity, leaving the light on too long, or don't really need sunlight therapy as much as they thought they did. If I wear the device more than 15 minutes I do start to feel over-caffeinated, but I haven't seen spots or gotten headachey. So far, I'm really glad I made this investment. One last bit of advice: recharge the device for 8 hours tops, no overnight plug-in.

A good idea just got better
I had the previous model that was mounted on a visor. It worked for a few years, but then it couldn’t hold a charge as other reviewers mentioned. This time I’m going to follow their instructions regarding when to keep the unit on—and off—the charger. The clip fits well on the brim of my favorite cap. I tend to use the lower intensity 30-minute setting and it’s so comfortable that I often don’t notice when it shuts itself off. Customer Service is great as well. One of my lens was slightly dimmer than the other. After one brief call, I received a replacement and postage in which to return my broken one within a week. So far, I've avoided the bad-mood days that this dark season typically brings. Fortunately, light therapy seems to work for me. Great product. Great company.

9 years of use review
Well, I've taken this to multiple countries over the years and just pulled it out while repackaging some items in storage as it's Winter. After 9 years, the battery no longer charges, but I can wear it plugged in and turned on just fine for 15 minutes in the morning while I drink my coffee and make notes to myself about the day's intentions. For mornings when I need to start my day before the sun rises, it's an easy and quick "pick me up". I wear it higher than my eyes as Optic Nerve Atrophy causes photophobia and I don't want the lights shining "in" my eyes only "around" my eyes. Following the Andrew Huberman Sleep Cocktail and Daily Routine, I use only red lights at night with blue blocking lenses (Axon brand) AND make sure to NOT wear blue blocking lenses during the day when I need the blue light for my body's natural sleep/wake cycle. Like this product. Even though I'm no longer north of the Arctic Circle, winters can negatively affect how long my body wants to be awake each day, so I use this product. Still Going Strong Nine Years On! Recommend to friends, foes, and family.

I love the Feel Bright Light because it works!
I've used the Feel Bright Light for about three years now and recently ordered a second one to give as a gift. When we aren't having one of our beautiful sunny days in Seattle, it can be very gray and dismal. I'm a native but often have trouble adjusting during the fall and winter especially when we change back to standard time. This light has been a godsend. I researched several desktop lights but didn't want to give up space on my desk and I wanted the flexibility of using it anywhere in the house. It's a good value and comparable to prices you might pay for a high quality lamp.I sit and read a book or magazine for 30 minutes every morning before I start my day, which in itself is calming but made all the better with the light. I didn't have any trouble adjusting to using the light. when I first used it but some people may need to ease into it. It's worth investing your time. I highly recommend this product.

These don’t last long enough for the price
I have bought 5 or 6 of these in my life, and the problem is always the same: They don’t last. This item consists of 6 LEDs, a timer, and a non-user-replaceable battery, and it costs over $100. After anywhere from 1-3 years of use, it will simply stop holding a charge and you will need to throw it out b/c u can’t replace the battery, and then spend another $100. And remember, you’re only using it for 3-6 months out of the year anyway, so really it’s only getting used a total of 30-60 minutes a day for 3-18 months! I continue to buy them ONLY b/c of how incredibly convenient they are to use compared to a light that sits on the table that you have to put your head a few inches away from, but it’s really not reasonable to expect most people to keep spending this kind of money on a device that should last much longer or cost much less. They’ve never changed the design over the years to correct this flaw, which I think is ridiculous, and they continue to charge a ridiculously high price for what you’re getting. Mine just died AGAIN, which is why I was motivated to write this review. I’ve continued buying the same brand out of habit, but this year for the first time I think i’m going to look into alternative brands to replace the one that just died.
