Beautiful Designs, Rapid Shipping
I was more than pleasantly surprise when I received this book yesterday. It is in pristine condition, looks like it had never been opened. A bonus was that it was receive almost two weeks before it was supposed to get here.

Absolutely wonderful
I just recieved this book yesterday and I am so excited to start working the patterns! They are absolutely gorgeous! After the disappointment of "Oriental Cross Stitch" by Lesley Tare, I wasn't really expecting much. But Joan Elliott totally delievered. The colors are gorgeous, there are plenty of big projects - which I love, and the patterns look tight and well thought out.I do anticipate having to purchase some items online as I know the craft shops in my area have limited choices on Aida and speciality threads, but compared to some of her other books, this looks like it will be minimal. There is also a lot of variety in the patterns. I love the fan pattern and the kimono pattern. The three women of course are gorgeous. There are also many beautiful flower patterns and patterns including japense lettering. I definitely think there is enough variety here to satisfy anyone interested in oriental designs.

By Far the Best
I love cross stitch and needlepoint and I also love oriental designs. This book fits both criteria and then some! You will find wonderful designs, some very small and quite a few large ones. Two things are really appreciated...very few colors are used (which is amazing given the depth of the designs) and very few fractional stitches are used, which again makes the stitching that much more enjoyable. Three large designs of geisha's are included and several designs focus on oriental plants and calligraphy. I would definitely rate this as one of the best cross stitch books I have ever purchased.

Joan Elliott: Amazing cross stitch designer!
For any seasoned, serious cross stitchers, I do not have to sing the praises of Joan Elliott and her highly detailed, beautiful designs. For those who haven't had the pleasure of stitching her designs, they have been missing the talents of a most amazing lady. I highly encourage all stitchers to seek out this book and her book "Bewitching Cross Stitch". But don't stop there! She has many others that are just as incredible. Try her! You'll like her!

Wonderful patterns!
This book is filled with really terrific Asian cross stitch patterns. A couple of them in the book I have been wishlisted on forever and never purchased because they were a gazillion dollars and whammo there they were in this book for less than ten bucks. Yes, it was used but in great shape so it was all good. It has masses of designs from kimonos to dragons. Large and small designs. Really recommend this if like me you are really into Asian designs.

Lovely Patterns
I have finished 2 of the patterns in this book. I love this book and it was well worth the price. I didn't have any problem keeping my place and following all the correct stitches.Cross-stitch is one of my hobbies and I have so many other patterns so I don't stick to one type. That's why I've only had a chance to do two of them. One is an Orchid and the other is a Geisha.I'll try to attach a picture of each.

Beautiful, Realistic Charts!
I love this book and I highly recommend it for more advanced cross stitchers. These charts realistically depict the kimono as an art form as well as luxurious attire. I find that these charts are challenging as well. This book is also particularly useful to anyone interested in Japanese art history, particularly the Edo Period. I'm currently working on one of the more intricate designs; I love to see the designs come together!

Beautiful and inspiring
My youngest son (and his girlfriend and most of their friends) love all things Japanese. They are mainly into Manga and cos-play (dressing as characters from their favourite games and novels and role-playing or acting out scenes) but most of them have an appreciation of traditional Japanese culture. These designs are so serene. Although they could deter the novice, more experienced / accomplished embroiderers will relish the challenge and they are so inspiring many newcomers could take them on, accepting that some of the larger designs require many hours of patience. I want to incorporate a couple of the larger designs into a headboard surrounding the central panels with rows of traditional Japanese patchwork (usually neutral or muted palettes -sepia tones, greys or soft plum,

One of the Most Beautiful Cross Stitch Books Ever
Love this book! The only problem is there are way too many designs I want to stitch! It is a hardback book, so as the designer recommends, it will be necessary to make a working copy of patterns you want to follow.
