The best vacuum available
I love it; there isn't another vacuum that works as well. I had a Filter Queen that was purchased in 1963; DH thought it was "too old" and got rid of it. Big mistake -- we went through three vacuums in the past ten years and none were near as good as that old Filter Queen. Yes they are expensive, but they will easily last a lifetime or more.

Does not work like they claimed.
We were talked into purchasing this vaccume along with 2 house air filters. Promised the air cleaners would cut down on the furnace filters. Never did. The cannister is heavy, and not good for stairs. The power floor head has no weight to it. This allows it to not stand on its own, even when not attached to the hose. Constantly falls over and hits walls or anything in the way. No weight also will not pick up dirt unless you lift while draggingit back at you to get the beater head to touch the carpet. Using the non-powered head pushed dirt unless you change the angle you vaccume at as you move it. Emptying it is another pain. After detaching all the parts, you can move both clamps. There are 2 filters inside, don't get them dirty on the motor side. After removing them you can then take it and dump it into the trash. Make sure it is a larger trash can or you will dump most down the outside. You then must reach inside the mostly empty unit and grab hair that gets stuck on the medal dirverter inside. You will not get all the dirt out due to the lip around the cannister. You are supposed to replace the charcoal every six months and the main paper filter each month. However the cost of them you will want to blow the paper one off each time and make it last as long as possible. We found our dyson stick vaccume works just as good or better at times.Update 4/12/21After it tipping over multiple times with the last one opening and spilling dirt everywhere, I tossed it down a flight if stairs out side. We went and purchased a Dyson Animal ball upright. It works amazing.Bummer part is I still owe lots on this crap along with 2 air filters that don't do what they claimed either. Just taking up space in the garage.

FilterQueen Majestic Vacuum
We have a well sealed home, not perfect. We have to dust once a week; dust becomes noticeable at a week or two. All laminate floors, one dog, two cats, and four adults. Ceiling had a noticeable covering of tile removal construction dust, 600 sqft. Filter Queen Majestic vacuum had enough suction for the 9 inch nozzle to remove the dust in one pass; hose and tube had enough reach to reach an eight foot ceiling. Main draw for the vacuum is the HEPA filters; they do work and last 3 months under our use. The construction is very well made; it is made of light-weight materials; tub, carriage, and attachment tray is polymer plastic. Hose is all metal/ stainless steel construction inside covered with polymer/plastic cover; it will get smashed and will not spring back like "cheaper" hoses. This is an older version but it is built the same with the same replacement parts. Most vacuums have some HEPA filter, mostly much smaller, 20% of the size, hence they need to be cleaned/replaced each use or just have reduced performance. The Filter Queen has the performance, light-weight, and HEPA performance as advertised; question is the price $$$$; plus, your home must be "sealed", windows, doors, and air ducts (HEPA filter central air). This is NOT a commercial grade vacuum!!! It is very lightweight!!! Mostly polymer construction except the stainless steel>>> tube, hose, and motor cage!!! Engineered very well and good product support. Price was $$$ (1/3 ), 10 years ago.

serviceable but messy
Its a good vacuum cleaner overall, if you prefer canister models ( vs uprights). I kinda like using it ( I have many vacuums to choose from) especially for above the floor dusting. I make the filters last a long time because when I empty the canister, I use compressed air to clean it out and blow out the filter as well. So, its still as messy as a bagless vacuum....so no points there. it IS gratifying to SEE what your vacuuming efforts accomplish though as you can see just how much dust/debris was vacuumed up when you take the top off the base. TOP TIP; flicking your fingers on the filter ( while its dirty) when the machine is off, can improve airflow as it loosens the caked on dust. ALL bagged and bagless vacuum cleaners loose airflow when enough dust has coated the inside of the filter/bag, so this helps airflow before you have to empty the base and filter. Middling quality plastics....nothing to write home about. Buying new is absurd for the asking price....simply not worth it. A used model....almost any FQ from the past works JUST AS WELL. All they have essentially done in the past 25 years is change the color on the outside....and LOOSE the lights on the power head.

Definitely NOT The One Your Mother Owned
This isn't worth $3,000 at all. It's almost entirely made of cheap plastic and after a couple of months the joint at the upper part of the hose squeaks, and the power head no longer goes on/off smoothly off of the wand. And the attachments are easily scrapped up. After 6 months it looks like it's been totally beat upMy mother had a Filter Queen for a wedding gift back in the early 70's and that dark brown machine was made of metal, the attachments were well made and it is still going strong. This plastic imitation Filter Queen will be lucky to last a year.

$3700. More expensive than any appliance I've ever purchased.
Just bought this from a distributor. I can't quite figure out why it costs more than my riding lawn mower and fancy washing machine/dryer combined. I'll give it credit where it's due, it's obviously a good vacuum that costs 3 times more than a 32 core processor... Wouldn't mind if someone broke down the cost per component so I didn't feel like I got suckered into buying.
