Very sturdy. Close fast. Easy to install with the wall fixtures and the automatic closing works after two years so very safe still. The black looks great.

I have had a few gates in the past, more recently to stop my dog getting to the cat's food. This gate is well designed, it was easy to fit, opens easily and the auto close is brilliant.

We used this gate at the bottom of the stairs so our puppy wouldn't climb up and possibly fall back down. It worked a treat.We didn't have to use any screws, we used plastic cups on the wall instead. Once we removed the gate, these did leave marks on the wall. So while you don't have to use screws, you might still have damage by fitting the gate securely.The gate looks smart. Ours is black, and looks a better than a bright white gate that draws your attention.It's easy to fit, but as mentioned. Even when not using screws, you can end up with some slight damage against any walls. We could have possibly got away with not fitting it so tightly, but safety and protection came first.Once fitted it's extremely easy to open and close the gate. It becomes second nature after a while.We didn't have any issues of the gate becoming loose, there's hand screws you can turn in order to tighten the fit. These are extremely easy to use.Although we've removed the gate now, we've kept it. We had another type before this one which was absolutely useless. So storing this one just in case.

Narrow living room door, so needed a narrow fitting stairgate to stop kids and dog escaping! Self closing, but you can keep gate open with a shoe which we do sometimes! Worth every penny.

I bought the gate to install at my Victorian terrace with a narrow gap at the top of the stairs, so I was delighted to find a gate that could accommodate the gap.Although the gate is undoubtedly well made and easy to install it is very, very, very dangerous as the locking mechanism is so easy to open that my 3 year old son unlocked it himself 2 minutes after installation.This isn't what I expected from a brand called "Safetots". The irony would be hilarious if the gate wasn't so unsafe.Owing to the number of positive reviews for this product, I assumed it was one of the best gates available for £35-40. Sadly, it appears to be one of the most dangerous gates.

I brought this after searching for a slightly smaller width gate to keep the dogs off the new carpet whilst we are not home.I must say I’m not one for usually writing reviews but this gate is definitely worth the review.Works great automatic closing which is a bonus. Fits perfectly and very easy to install.Very happy with this gate
