Get a blue one. You'll need phantom power for the best results. Five strars.
Best mic I have ever owned. Makes an SM 58 sound like a tin can. And the looks....the weight...buy one! Been singing rock and roll for 40 years and this is the best. Great for recording too. And it knocks the oh-so-common Shure Elvis mic into a cocked hat too.

Not working after 1 year and a half
Although it is still within the 3 years warranty and having in mind I already spent at least £250 on this microphone, when you need to send it for repair, it has to go to Usa. I contacted “Heil Sound” at [email protected] and they say the postage cost is on the customer. So you pay for something, it quickly stops working and you still have to pay for shipping! NOT WORTH IT, I do NOT recommend. Jerry, from customer service provides such an awful customer service. Everything bad on this experience.

I’m actually stunned! I own many mics, including a KSM8, KSM9, and Super 55. The bass response and upper mids on this mic are sweet! Clarity! Character! Wow! This is not just another pretty face. This mic is legit and pro in every regard. AND...it’s just fun to use! I LOVE it!!!

I bought it because a podcasting friend recommended Heil Sound microphones (although he had not heard of The Fin). It's gorgeous, and captures good sound. It is a lot more sensitive than I need, and picks up every background noise. I was hoping for less peripheral sound capture. Have to keep the gain on my soundboard turned down to avoid that, and also run the noise removal feature in Audacity to get rid of the background sounds I can't avoid. Might be great in a soundproof studio.

This was working fine for a few weeks but is now having periods where sound drops out and I have to tap the microphone to get it to start working again. Attempts to contact the vendor for support have been thus far unanswered. Trying again today.

This is the model of microphone that's used in the "may the odds ever be in your favor" scene of the hunger games. It's the chrome and white one and not the black one like I got. It lights up and sounds great.

This microphone is amazing! As good as my 58 mic but it lights up which is super cool.
