An Oakland, CA indie/art-rock band which borrows a page or two from the Valerie Lamercier/Coralie Clement/Ivy/Stereolab school of postmodern French ye-ye revivalism. Vocalist Helene Renaut finds sympathetic backing with some of the East Bay's artsier and hippest musicians, buoying her fragmented, obscurist lyrics and emotive vocals with angular and oddly textured accompaniment.
