Betty Crocker's 40th Anniversary Edition Cookbook

Book arrived with the pages rippled indicating it had gotten wet with something and then dried. One page is coming out of the binding and the cover has some mild damage. I knew it wasn't new and the cover damage wasn't too bad, so I just put it up on the shelf. I just opened it up and looked at it and unfortunately, my return window has closed. Lesson learned, inspect all items thoroughly UPON ARRIVAL!

This book is excellent for the new chef learning to cook. Besides all the recipes, it has tables, equivalents, measuring, a dictionary specifically for cooking and how to's. It's a perfect cookbook to give a child, adolescent, or adult to help with their first experiences in learning how to cook.

I love this cookbook. This is actually the third copy of this book I have bought. I gave one to my mother in law and one to my boss. I have been using my copy for many years. Has great all time favorite recipes in it. Easy to follow instructions and lots of great information on techniques and tips. I have 3 daughters who I will be getting this book for.

Arrived missing the first 4 pages. I have not gone through completely to determine if other pages are missing. The first 4 are really just an intro so I guess I can deal if no other pages are missing.

Whole Sections missing from cookbook. I know this because I have one that I bought 25 years ago when it was new. When I compared this one to mine - I saw what was missing.

I initially purchased this cookbook maybe about 10 or 15 years ago. I used it all of the time when I wanted to try something new on my family or friends. Well I used it so much (dinner, desserts, holidays....) that it had splotches of whatever ingredient I was using on that particular page. When I went to use it recently, some of the pages were stuck together....bad me. I immediately decided to buy another. This time I bought the hardback along with a paperback. The recipes are easy to understand. Additionally, there are various conversion charts to help prepare your dish easier. I was in love with this cookbook from the beginning and this time I will handle it with much TLC. It is an invaluable part of my cookbook library. Bonus...I got it at a fantastic price!

I have bought and had many cookbooks over the years but this one is the one I keep coming back to weekly. My family has never had a bad meal out of this book. My well loved copy is still holding together. My girls have grown up and I gave each a copy of this book so they could continue enjoying the recipes they love and maybe discover some new ones. There are prettier cookbooks out there but this one, with it's lemon pork chops, yellow cake, icings, snicker-doodle cookies, rolls, sweet and sour pork, pies, etc. is just wonderful. Try it.

I got this for my mother for Christmas from the Amazon marketplace. It arrived quickly.I chose this book because my mother's old copy was slowly destroyed over the years by a fire and general wear.She was happy to get a replacement, though we both realize the recipies don't seem as healthy these days.This book contains recipies that were eventually adopted into family recipee books,

Bought this as a replacement because I had completely worn out it's predecessor after 20 yrs of use. It is jammed full of basic recipes for the beginner which are easily adapted to become more advanced improvisations. The instructions are simple and easy to follow for even the more complicated pastries and cakes.

I bought a used book for my Mom to replace one we have been using as long as I can remember. We were pleased to discover it was a hardcover copy (ours was a soft bound copy).Even though a few of the pages were stained, the book was in excellent condition overall for such an old book. We joked it might have belonged to someone’s grandmother as it looked as though it had been bought and sold in a garage or estate sale before being resold to us. It will be kept within our family for some time and passed down to me one day.Thank you again. This is one of the best cookbooks on the market (coming from a family of foodies and a few professional cooks!)
