This mini Doulex humidifier is perfect for offices. It is powered by USB. Its super quiet operation gives you refreshing relief from year-round dryness from air conditioner. The size and adorable design helps it blend into the office environment perfectly. Review: It really works - I was skeptical but thought for the price I would take a risk. It has so far exceeded my expectations. The only trouble I see so far is you need to change the water daily and rinse out the cotton or it gets a funky wet towel smell but it goes away after doing what I said. Occasionally it stops working and not sure why but I just unplug it and plug it back and all is well. It does take breaks naturally by shutting off for about 45 sec and then starting up again and I assume that it just freezes but no big deal to me. It is quite the conversation piece as well. Review: Worked great... initially. - This item worked great when I first started using it at my desk to help with the dry air and bloody noses. Did quite well for a local proximity amount of moisturized air. Watching it go, you could see a foot high stream of moisture coming from the top of it. Thought there may be a problem down the line so I went looking for replacement wicks to stock up for it. Come to find out; they're not available from anywhere. The supplier said when they wear out, just contact him and he'll send another. They do not have replacements in packages available at any price. This is unacceptable. Now; 3 weeks in and the unit is producing almost no mist. Got two wicks with the product and pulled the new wick out; moistened and installed. Still producing almost no mist. Contacting the company is a joke. I'm not in to leaving messages for someone who never calls back. They don't even offer a miniscule "online web portal" for any kind of support either. Save your money. There are other solutions much better.

Best "cup" at my desk
I got LASIK and got a nice big humidifier for my home to help battle the dry eye discomfort that comes with getting LASIK and I never had a problem at home but at work was a different story. It was so dry at my work place that my eyes would get so dry that they would start to have a burning feeling so I bought this cute little humidifier to sit at my desk and it is great!! It is nice and small perfict for sitting on the desk. It is so quite you forget it is even there. I bought it for my eyes but have also noticed an improvement in my breathing, my nose doesn't get as plugged up and I see a difference in my skin I don't need to hardly use lotion or chapstick anymore it is so nice!!

When it worked...it worked
I thought this would be perfect for my little work area and for the first month I had it, it was perfect then last week it wasn't doing much. Sometimes if I HOLD the plug a certain way the steam will come out but most of the time it just sits there doing nothing. I didn't wash it, I didn't get the electrical area wet and I would have been singing it's praises if it had continued working but I'm sorry 17 dollars for something that lasted a month is not going to make me a very happy customer. I learned my lesson.

Cute, not Durable
The first one broke immediately. My husband determined that it was the tiny little lid switch. The seller did provide a quick replacement, so that's good. How to prevent breakage? Never use the open/close lid switch! I unplug it to turn it off, and plug it back in to turn it on. It's worked for several days now, with no trouble. I use filtered water in it, and it's fine. Puts out a rather lot of cool mist. Just never use the little slider open/close thing to turn it off/on. Open it the first time, then use the plug in. Edit: And, it died the true death soon after. For no reason that I could ever figure out, it just died. Yup, this is a short-term office toy.

Lifesaver
I bought this for a flight my family and I were making across country. We use it to raise the humidity in the area around my infant daughter. We had previously bought a Homedics Personal Humidifier from BB&B but the stupid thing broke after one use. We have an external battery pack that we take with us and we connected it and it immediately started working. We took it through security without any problems and the flight crew didn't seem to think anything of the "steam" coming from the coffee cup. Other than the flimsyness of "shutter" this thing works great!

Nice for the office
I work in a dry office and this is a convenient way to help alleviate the problem. Of course don't expect the same kind of performance as a full size humidifier, but for a unit that plugs into a USB port and sits nicely on your desk it works well. I fill it with water from the cooler and run it in the morning until moisture starts pooling around it. I figure at that point at least my immediate area is somewhat saturated. Repeat as necessary throughout the day.

A total failure...
After reading all the reviews I was hesitant to buy this product but still decided to give it a shot. The only positive about this product, if it would have worked, is the look of it without looking inside. I received the product, followed the very hard to understand instruction with poor grammar and spelling errors, and tried it on 3 different computers but this little cup just won't even turn on! I would have to say this company probably has zero QA process so it's kind of hit or miss, and I'm joining the zero star group. Wish the next person buying it good luck...or just stay away from it!
