Pleased with cd and delivery

2017 is the Queen of Soul's retirement year and we have been so lucky to be able to enjoy her many jewels over the past many decades. Most of them are included here, from Respect, Think, Say A Little Prayer, Rock Steady, Freeway of Love, Zoomin', Willing to Forgive, to duets with Whitney, George M and George B. Glaringly missing are the brilliant Luther Vandross-produced hits, Jump to It and Get It Right, which would have been much better than tracks like the dire duet with Elton John and Jumpin Jack Flash - Thelma Houston owns that song. The artwork could have been better, especially as the music covers much more than her earlier years. Also, I think chronological of the songs would have made better sense than the random mode here. There are many great female singers out there, indeed Aretha recently cut a tribute CD to them, but there's only one Queen and that's Aretha herself. Wishing her longevity in retirement, although her music will be played for many centuries to come.

All of Aretha's best and most popular songs are here for the most avid and discerning fan's auditory delight. From the colossal 'Respect' -- erupting with anger and sexual tension -- to the hip-hop and funky 'Rose is Still a Rose', this album truly offers the greatest of Aretha Franklin's inimitable voice and style. Besides these, there are several others on the album which have become classics, such as the beautifully sung and crafted 'I Say A Little Prayer', with its immediately recognizable opening and towering vocals. Add to this such beauties as 'Think', 'I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)', 'Chain of Fools', Ain't No Way' and 'Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)' and you have a definitive collection of Aretha's outstanding contribution to music that just comes short of buying every album she's ever made.This is a really great compilation album of the greatest singer you'll ever hear and is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

I purchased this cd as I already own the album on vinyl and I wanted to listen to it in my car...old fashioned I know...but I know my music and Aretha has a voice that just delivers and touches your soul.

Really enjoyed hearing the well known songs which were mostly on one disc a few favourites on the other disc

Hello, love this CD (two CDS) of Aretha's greatest. I play these at home, in the car and also at work. I play these at work with people with learning disabilities and their faces light up when they hear Aretha start to sing and the beats to all her songs. You can see a real dfference in their responses to Aretha's music, it's great to see. Thank you very much.

What a superb crystal clear voice and perfect pitch a real pleasure to listen to. This a wonderful album and would definitely recommend. She is one of many superb legends that we now lack in modern music.
