I use this to retwist my locs. Have been looking for something that is water based for my low porosity 4b and 4 c combo hair that will wash out easy and not collect lint and other substances between hair care. Love the smell of apples and the old is gel like but not hard. Interesting texture. Was pleasantly surprised at that. Firm in the jar and you have to break the seal of the actual gel by applying pressure with your finger, however when you rub it between the fingers the consistency softends. Zero buildup and adds a great shine and NO PARABÉNS, SULFATES, PHTHALATES SILICON, SYNTHETIC DYES, MINERAL OIL, ANIMAL USE, ALCOHOL, GLUTEN OR GMO. Aloe softens the hair yet this product keeps the hold however hair is not stiff can still move and there is no flaking.

No false advertising here, the product actually works. It definitely help with styling and holding hair.

This hair gel is highly functional because when it dries there is no crunchy feel to my medium porosity hair and no flakes form. It’s also not sticky when applying and gives excellent hold to my coarse textured coiled hair. I don’t think any shine is imparted by this product. I get shine and great moisture from the other products of the same line that this gel is apart of, which I apply before it by doing the LCO method. This gel’s consistency is very lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh my hair down. Its green apple scent is pleasant and light. I hope you strongly enjoy using it as much as do.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this gel for a hold on my natural hair for over a year now and it’s one of my faves and lasts a good while! I decided to rebuy it this time around to use for braids. It smells nice and doesn’t build up terribly or leave white caked up product even after repeated use (5-10 days). In really warm weather it does melt though causing the hold to let up some, but not to the point of leaving a frizzy mess on your head. I do also use it in combination with a lighter gel or mousse for curl definition, it doesn’t make my curls hard and defines well.

While I do like the way the gel noticeably adds definition to the tighter curls/coils of 4b/4c hair, I don't care for the clean up afterward. It does go in without mess, applying it to wet hair makes it more effective, the smell is not overpowering either. The gel doesn't leave hair hard or "crunchy", which is a plus. My issue is when the gel (and my hair) dries. I couldn't see the residue or flakes until i combed/brushed my hair but there was a subtle "film" left on the scalp as a result. I can only speak from my experience and don't assume these results are typical but if you aren't washing your hair everyday (with shampoo, not just rinsing), you will want to.For a moment, I thought I was dealing with some serious dry scalp/flaking issues (which I have every so often but not enough to need dandruff shampoo) and it almost concerned me until I realized it was probably a result of the gel from the previous day. I tested this by going without the gel for a week and found that no horrific level of flaking occurred. I like that the gel made my hair soft but I don't shampoo often enough to keep the residue at bay; meaning, I couldn't use this product daily. I don't often use products like this so, I will probably just stick to moisturizing oils.My girlfriend now uses it on her 3b hair for flyaways, she likes it and appreciates the lack of crunch as well. It isn't a huge deal to just rinse the product from her hair.

Best edge control. Not harsh. Only compliant is that it runs if worn in hot atmosphere for to long. Overall great gel, and multiple purpose use.

I actually bought this by mistake but it’s the best mistake I’ve made in a while. No build up. No flaking. My hair is 3c and it works great. Not sure if it’s the best option for more course hair. Smells nice. Doesn’t dry out hair and hair remains soft.

The fragrance is not as noticeable... the product is watered down, less rich and moisturizing.
