Not all pine nuts (seeds) are of the Mediterranean or Italian genus. Most of what is seen in US supermarkets today in little bottles are Asian, Chinese, smaller & harder & tasteless if a bigger bargain. This product bought is the real deal for Italian or other Mediterranean dishes. They are not cheap at all but very tasty. Sadly,in Italian bakeries in NYC you only see the Chinese variety on Pignoli cookies; not good. My Grandma is spinning in her grave.

So not worth $45! God, how did I miss that this was only 8 oz. Such a rip off. Very mild flavor. Not the best pine nuts I’ve eaten. Oh well. Live and learn.

I eat them for a snack or toast them as a topping for salads. They have a great natural flavor.
