Henry and Clemmies Dog Backpack, Small, Red

--UPDATE: 12/26/14--The seams on top holding the left pouch has rip 10% more. The bottom seam of the pouch has torn open completely. I had to retrace my steps in the snow to retrieve the contents; not a pleasurable experience. The backpack is now unusable and will only cause injury to my dog because it will be unbalanced. I'm thoroughly dissatisfied because it appears that this backpack has thin nylon with weak stitching resulting in a disposable product. I was hoping it would last at least six months for the price. I can't afford a new backpack every three weeks.----Sizing fairly large. My 14lbs dog is still too small for the small sized back pack. Seams are ripping apart now after a few weeks of use. The backpack is used approximately 30 minutes each day and the backpack is nearly unusable now. It helped to give the dog something to do and tire him out which was perfect. Nevertheless, this didn't hold up during regular dog walks so I know it wouldn't hold up during hiking trips.

I bought this for my 17lb dog to use on walks around the neighborhood. It has hefty pockets that easily fits keys and a phone. I could probably fit lots more stuff in the compartments but that would be too heavy for my little doggie! Neat little poop bag dispenser on the side that makes it easy to stop and pick things up when nature calls.True to color, reflective piping on the edge adds a nice touch and is highly visible at night. Over all build seems high quality, underside is made of a thick mesh and the straps that fasten under the belly are covered with a fleecy material that must prevent chafing. My one complaint is that the D-ring on top is made of plastic instead of metal. Not sure how the backpack would hold up on a hike, but it works well for my dog's adventures in the concrete jungle.

this pack is made very well. the pockets and zippers are great. stitching looks like it will hold up well. i gave it 4 stars for a poor fit. i have an 18# cockapoo so i ordered the medium. it was huge on her. i sent it back and ordered the small. it was big on her also. the pack states its for dogs 15#. maybe my dog is exceptionally thin... i've sewed it in and it will fit well and i don't think i'll have problems with it.

I bought the Small for my 20-lb Alaskan Klee Kai. It was about an inch or so too big on the girth, but it was easy to get a luggage-repair person to move the pockets a bit closer to each other, and that solved the problem. We love it for hiking, and our dog seems to enjoy having a job to do (carrying supplies). :-)

Very useful of an energetic dog. Our dog weighs in at 24 pounds and the small size fits him with the straps set to their shortest. There is some tendency for the backpack to shift from side to side. The recommendation is to load up no more than 7% of body weight so we have two 12 ounce cans in the pockets which is just right. There is a small and large zippered pocket on either side so the weight can be fine-tuned if desired.

I was so excited to get this for my little dog Si. Unfortunantly it does not fit him right underneath. There are two buckles that hold it in place, and one of the buckles sits right on his boy parts, aka: his penis! He did not go for that at all as I am sure it would chaffe terribly! Otherwise the pack is adorable and the pockets are quite roomy. Sadly, this is going back.

I bought this for my mini schnauzer, the fit was okay and everybody loved the backpack on her. Everywhere we went she was the center of attention. The backpack has two large compartments , great for small bottles of water and treats, or whatever you might want to bring along. It also has two smaller compartments perfect for plastic bags for poop patrol. There is also a handle on the top of the backpack which can be used for picking up your small animal.It was at the handle area that the backpack began to fail. After picking up my 15lb dog no more than 20 times over three days the stitching started to come undone. I thought I could get it repaired, however, there is a pad underneath that prevents on from doing this unless someone were to completely take it apart.This is a good looking and functional product, its just not very sturdy. If you never use the handle to pick up your pet, then this might be just what you're looking for.I promise you though, it's too much of a temptation to use the handle...

Love this backpack, a friend had one for her larger dog so I got one for mine. I ordered the small which says its for dogs up to 20 pounds. It was way to big for the 19 poind Pomeranian I fostered and for my 22 pound mutt. Unless your dog has a large chest I don't think this works well for smaller dogs. Five stars for larger dogs!!

I like this backpack... I can put some weight in it so my dog is more tired after our walk.My dog is a very excited dog and it is so comfortable that she doesn't react when I put it on her.The measures aren't quite right tough. I bought the medium one but I had to return the item and to order the small one.My dog is a 18 pounds Boston Terrier.

Sizing is very generous.

The small size was a bit large for my min-pin/chihuahua. She tolerated it well, and it seemed not to be uncomfortable for her. I love the construction, shape and colour.

Great quality. My dog seems pretty comfortable wearing it even though it is a little big on her.
