Minx Min 12 Bookshelf Satellite Speaker (Each) with 4th Generation BMR Technology (Black)

I used a pair of these just above the headboard in our bedroom as remote speakers for our flatscreen, and they sound great. Dialog is crisp and clear, allowing us to lower the volume of our TV (both due to the clarity and proximity). These aren't going to produce any bass, so if you'll need to supplement with a subwoofer if you are looking for a fuller sound, but for our application, they are exactly what we were looking for. They come ready to hang, but I also purchased the optional mounting brackets are a more secure option. They look great hanging on my wall, and they are so small that its easy to not even notice they are there.

Great sound for such small speakers. Nice fit and finish. Sleek design. I searched a lot of alternatives and glad I came across these. Using them as surrounds.

Excellent speaker for all satellite applications. Great for surround systems. Easy to wall mount and almost invisible on white surfaces. In a word: perfect.

I used this amazing speaker Cambridge Audio Minx Min 11 and later Minx Min 12 in testing setup on production floor. Total about 10 units. I liked 11 and 12 models very much because it was the only speaker that produced very uniform, even sound at the distance of 2 inches, which was needed on our benches. No other speaker could be even close for our specific need. It is a really clever and excellent design. There is also a weakness. We lost a few speakers due to connectors that can rotate inside of speaker and loose connection. Yes. This is design issue, not defective part. Such clever and superior product has a built in problem that reduces reliability to large degree. As I write this, I have 4 speakers no longer working, and connectors rotate with no stop point. We also had some speakers develop no connection that was restored by removing speaker cable and put it back. Likely a problem was due to insufficient force on tightening screw - again, you can't tighten it because entire connector starts rotating. This problem requires redesign of connectors inside. For that reason such excellent otherwise product 4 stars instead of 5. As I write this review, I noticed price went up from $75 in Jan 22 to $100 presently., Aug 2022. Updated Sep 1, 2022. I learned that rotating connector is just Banana Plug that rotates on speaker back panel. No proof that connecting hardware failed in defective speakers. It equally could be blown coil. Which is also troubling as speakers did not experience any abuse. All work with fixed signal, white noise at a moderate level of a 1W to 2W, well below expected handling level. And power on clicks from single output amplifiers are really low on our benches. It is a cosmic joke to advertise "recommended amplifier power 25-200W" instead of Nominal Power or Max Power or Peak Power - for a small speaker, knowing many users will work near speaker limits. 200W amplifier will send speaker flying in thick smoke cloud if speaker coil is not burned immediately. So I correct here my earlier statements, regarding connections problem, while lower than expected reliability claim remains.

These work well for surround back speakers as they are quite small yet sound bigger than you might expect. They come with basic wall mounts, but if you want to angle the speakers, get the 400M speaker wall brackets.

These are great L/R front speakers in a home A/V system.

The Mix Min 12 speakers are small and attractive. They produce a great sound for the size and work best in a system with a subwoofer. They're not designed to give out much bass. For my setup, they've been great. The issue I have (and the reason for only 3 stars) is that nowhere does it say these come with simple wall mounts in the package when they DO. I bought the wall mounts that are made for this speaker because there was no indication that I could mount these on a wall without mounts. Cambridge Audio even answers one of the questions on the product page with "We have specific mounts available to purchase that will work with our Minx Min series. Unfortunately, as we have not tested third party mounts, we cannot advise." That certainly makes it sound like you should be purchasing their mounts separately to get these speakers on a wall. I bought the $20 mounts and chose to return them. Unfortunately, because of Cambridge Audio's misleading description and answer, I now have to pay 25% of the cost of the speaker mounts to be able to return them and get a refund. Will $5 break the bank? It won't, but it might for someone else. If you purchase these and want them flush against the wall. You DO NOT need to purchase wall speaker mounts...unless you like to pay to return things you don't need.

I was looking for a couple of rear ceiling surrounds and these do just the job. Cracking speakers, on a par with Bose..

I purchased two of these Minx Min 12 speakers as surround along with their bigger cousin, the Minx Min 22, for the front, centre and right speakers. These replaced some very old 10-watt speakers I had on my home theatre setup: a Pioneer VSX-921 AV receiver and a Yamaha 8-inch subwoofer. I thought my previous setup sounded good, but what an improvement these are. The sound experience is truly immersive. For small speakers coupled with a subwoofer, they are imposing. I bought these because I wanted conspicuous speakers that produce good sound. You do not notice them as they blend in with the living room furniture, but when listening to a movie, you notice the sound they produce. Almost as if the sound is not emanating from anywhere. I am pleased with these Cambridge Audio speakers. Similar-sized and quality speakers on the market are much more expensive.

Utilizzate come satelliti per home theatre 5.1. Consigliate, il suono è buono e potente; sorprende il design e la compattezza. Non utilizzatele come casse frontali dal momento che i bassi sono inesistenti (arrivano sino ad un minimo di 150Hz).

I was hunting for a center channel speaker but constrained with the size. With lot of searching came across BMR technology and Minx Series is the only one which uses the same and provides wide power handling ( 25 - 200 watts). This wonderful speaker doesn't have much of reviews online. Was skeptical on the sound quality on which I was pleasantly proved wrong. Ordered Minx Min 12 as I have an Active Sub already. Connected it to Pioneer VSX 830 as center channel. Let the YAPO do its work and on the first run it just matched with the Polk 330Ts. Needed a little of bit tweaking on the channel level. Am satisfied overall.
