Will this pen work in an upside down condition? For example, an angled rear car glass with a defroster broken trace.

If aesthetics are of little concern, this will probably work. What I would do is clean the broken trace with isopropyl alcohol 91%. Retrace with this pen, test, then apply 2-part clear epoxy over the retrace to protect it <important if you don’t want the morning dew to dissolve the ink the next day. you may have to lightly sand the broken trace beforehand if the ink doesn’t stick well also may have to lightly sand the protective coating of the 2 unbroken trace ends, so this ink will be able to conduct. It may be tricky using this upside down, in which case maybe dab the ink onto a small brush and apply that way.
