Great addition
I was skeptical about this however the good reviews gave me the warm and fuzzies so I purchased it about 2 months ago. I've used the whole summer season now and have to say IT'S FREAKING AWESOME! Seriously it's wonderful in several ways. It does great straight lines for edging, it does beds and culverts with absolute precision. Literally it makes a novice a professional almost immediately. It really helps on my St Augustine grass to trim a nice flat area without going to low (which is death for that type of grass- can't go too short!).I think most importantly it adds a level of safety by acting as a shield to keep flying grass and rocks down and away from hitting your ankles and windows. It's worth it if you're serious. You can also use your trimmer like normal! This is not made specifically clear however it's no need to have another string trimmer. This only ADDS trip the utility of your existing trimmer. I watched a YouTube video to see how it goes on my echo 225 trimmer and it was pretty easy. I had to order powder graphite as it didn't come with any, it was not much$$ and will last many years. All in all I'm very serious about my lawn care and this certainly helped bring it up a notch!

Game Changer
I’ve had this for almost 9 1/2 years and it’s still going strong, so that box is ticked. Now on to the usage. This thing makes edging around curbs and flower beds idiot-proof. Perfect straight lines every time, with the benefit of shielding the operator (me) from flying debris. It will still fling stuff on you, but it’s not nearly as bad as having an open trim head. I would estimate that I can edge and trim twice or even x3 times as fast as without it.It’s just one of those products that just work and that’s all there is to it. Super tough construction that will give you many years of service and increased productivity.

Works just as good as an edger but costs much less.
I've always seen professional landscaping employees using this product, and they make it look easy.I have centipede grass, which can get very thick, and I used to have an edger to take care of it. This attachment makes my trimmer work like an edger, and takes the same amount of time.Putting the attachment on was pretty easy, I think the hardest thing was to get used to using my trimmer with my left hand on the throttle, and use my right hand to guide it. This took me a few minutes to get used to it, I'm sure with more time I'll be as efficient as those professional landscapers. The last time I edged my driveway was about two months ago, so the centipede was overgrown by 2-3 inches. I figured this was a good test. Like I said, it took me some time to get used to using this but it worked great. I had a good clean edge and it was actually straight. I only had to make two passes to get my driveway edged, which would be about the same time as using my old edger. This product is excellent and I'm going to recommend this to a few of my friends.UPDATE: 8/1/2015 - It's been almost 3 years with this product and it is still working just great! I am now used to using this, it only took me a few times to get used to using with my left hand on the throttle, and use my right hand to guide it.I still give it 5 stars.

This is a great attachment to install on the string trimmer.
This adapter not only helps you cut a straight edge with less effort and less fatigue but also helps to bevel edges of the lawn that are without a concrete border. I have found it throws out less debris than the original shield did. It works great to position it and then just drag it as you move along the border. The adapter rolls effortlessly and reduces uneven edging. Installation was easy. Just find the correct holes, line up the attachment and put in the new bolts.

Best Edging I Have Ever Seen
Been mowing for a long, long time. This attachment eases the trimming and edging...does a great job. the vertical nearly looks like a blade edger. And the trimming is significantly uniform. I find with edging, holding the head behind you gives a better looking line.

Still adjusting to using the Edgit, but I think I am going to be happy with what it does.
I was told that I could use the Edgit with my trimmer that has the cut line attachment (where I use 2 pre-cut pieces of line inserted into the head) instead of the bump head string attachment. I did like the straight, even cutting that I got using the Edgit; however, I used it once with my attachment and found that it wasted too much line so I called the company and they told me I should go with the bump head attachment so I did. The first time I used it, the cutting made such a wide cut between the sidewalk and the lawn. I took it apart and placed a nut on each of the 3 screws between the gearbox flange on my trimmer and the Edgit--using washers was too difficult to line up to the hole and the screws. I will be using it in a couple of days to see how it cuts, but I think it will work great from how I see the eyelet hole and the lip measure up to each other. I have a lot of beds to outline, and it takes some getting used to to trim up the beds. I will have to use my blade attachment to my trimmer and also the Edgit line attachment to cut the grass and outline around the beds. I was surprised how big the Edgit was. I'm looking forward to trying it out again.9/10/13 I used the Edgit for a 3rd time, and the cut line between the sidewalk and the lawn was much narrower--looks great and clean. I also got a real feel of how to use it around the beds. I think that I will be able to eliminate using the blade attachment. The left-handed method helps a lot because the trimmer is always behind me. I honestly didn't feel the fatigue after using the trimmer with the Edgit--even when it was so hot and humid. You must keep up with the lubrication of the Edgit to keep it rotating. Another thing that I noticed is that I don't get so dirty from the flying dirt, etc., while using the Edgit--that is a REAL plus.
